Advanced Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine is committed to obtaining optimum patient outcomes and satisfaction. We have helped thousands of patients using our 'Advanced Way' model and are proficient in all orthopedic and sports medicine injuries. After a comprehensive assessment is made, individualized treatments may include one or more of the following.
Dr. Eric Honbo has been practicing orthopedic physical therapy and sports medicine since 1997. As a previous Chicago and New York City Marathon finisher, Eric understands the patients' desires to compete, set goals & achieve them. He has worked with patients of all ages and abilities who have experienced orthopedic and neurological injuries - including many MLB, NFL, NBA, NCAA and Olympic athletes, as well as numerous professional musicians.
Ron has been treating patients since 1997 and became a Certified Athletic Trainer in 1999. He has provided Athletic Training services for the NBA summer camp, AMA Supercross, Air It Out, Hoop it Up and Junior Volleyball Festival. At California State University, Northridge he was the athletic trainer for the women's soccer team, managing all medical issues on campus and while traveling.
Nancy K. Nakatani has over 15 years of experience as an Investment Management Professional. She has experience in investment support functions including portfolio accounting, performance calculating and reporting, cash management, and client account maintenance.
Prior to joining Advanced Physical Therapy, Nancy worked for Los Angeles Capital Management, where she was responsible for overseeing all of the firm's funds performance measurement and related staff and Cliffwater LLC, where she managed the day-to-day operations and performance reporting of the hedge fund reporting team.

I have read several other reviews and have not had any of the issues the poor reviews have mentioned. I was referred by my orthopedist for shoulder issues. Dr. Eric Honbo is very much in contact with the doctor and even gave me a report to take when I returned for a Dr. visit. I had chronic pain for a year but in the 4-5 months I have been seeing Dr. Eric I have almost 90% improvement. I am now going in once per week and following a home program. I am grateful for the instructions so I can do the exercises at home. Dr. Eric works on my shoulders at every visit and then has assistants help me

I came to Advanced Physical Therapy after Brian Carson decided to join his favorite therapists in Thousand Oaks. Brian's professional demeanor and expertise made it worth the extra 20 minute drive to Conejo Valley. Alexis normally preps my back with heat, then Brian manipulates my muscles for about 20 minutes before turning me back over to Alexis. She instructs and corrects me as I perform my workout, then it's back to my room for a cold wrap on my hip with electrical stimulation. The PTs here are great... at first! But the longer you go, the worse they get - lazy, careless, grumpy, in a rush, etc. They make you feel really connected and like a priority and then all of a sudden, they don't care about you, your care, or your experience. As a plus, they are terrible at communicating with your prescribing physician. I would NOT recommend this PT if you're looking for a positive experience. Disappointing.

This is the worst example of physical therapy I have been to. I have a chronic spinal condition. Nick Magnusson comes in like he is a knight in shining armor and his time he spends with you shrinks., and shrinks because his one a only concern is working with high school girls. I wasted a year and a half on him and he ruined me. Great bed size manner but it is all smoke and mirrors. He is into it ALL for the money - his parents are PTs so he is the prodigal son that thinks he can do whatever he wants. The others there aren't any better.They are burnt out and don't give a damn about

They didnt b.s. me and string me along with add-ons and alternate therapy. They moved fast once in session so I wasn't waiting in the room. They taught me what to do and I did the work at home. It's what therapy should be short term and effective.

Very unprofessional operation and ownership. Waited until two hours before appointment to notify that there was a problem with insurance coverage. "Eric" (purportedly and owner) told me they are unwilling to make the effort to document the need for additional treatment as prescribed by my physicialn and that I should go elsewhere.

Great experience! Shoulder injury. Waited over a year for treatment because I assumed it would get better on its own. It did not. Five weeks of PT and I am SO MUCH BETTER!! Should have done this sooner. Brett Taylor was amazing! Extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. He set me up with exercises that gave we excellent results with just a few weeks. Brittney Baker was also amazing. Very knowledgeable, personable, and helpful. If I have issues in the future, I will definitely come back here!! Thanks for everything!!

Went to Advanced Physical Therapy as my son had a great experience there after knee surgery for a Sports Related Injury. I had foot surgery due to a car accident, and was so fortunate to have Sean as my therapist, and Sagar as his assistant. Sean not only got me walking again, but also got my legs/hips strengthened and worked on balancing so I can be back to normal without pain. So much better than other local Therapists I have gone to previously. I highly recommend this company!!

Just realized this was never posted but better late than never (should have been in March, 2015)! After my third back surgery, the last a L2-L3 fusion, I was in need of some very progressive, targeted physical therapy. Advanced Physical Therapy is providing me this type of treatment. The therapists there are thoughtful and engaging. Cody has been amazing, as well as Ash, and others under their direction. I have been to several therapy centers, so I can put things in perspective. These guys are the best!

Disappointing. The receptionists are rude, disconnected and insincere. The therapist "treats" and is with you for about 10 minutes of the hour or hour and a half. After you're thrown with whatever assistant is available. You get passed between a few different people every session. They don't even give you their full attention as they are also running around with other patients. Most of the time I ran through my exercises by myself with an occasional nod of approval from the oh so wonderful staff. I can do that by myself at home. Why would I need to come to an office to do what

What can I say other that WOW!!!! This place was amazing. My 12 year old was diagnosed with Little League Elbow last spring(Growth plate separation). His Orthopedic recommended this facility to us. Living 30 miles a way I must say that I was skeptical of the drive but decided to give it a go. No regrets there.

I went to APTSM to rehab after cervical spine fusion and a torn rotator cuff. The front desk staff were friendly and professional. Many of them actually assist in the PT work outs. I worked primarily with Dr. Eric Honbo, but, everyone there knows their stuff. My rehab was steady and consistent, and spectacularly successful.
I would, and do, give Advanced Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine my highest recommendation.

It felt like everyone was given the same treatments. Upper body Y & T and lower body
ski polls on boucy ball. You get shifted around to three different people and nobody really cares or gives you personal assistance. Most people in there are doing the exercises wrong and nobody working there corrects them. Its not cheap so I am not sure why there is such lack of assistance. Will not be returning
