Shaffer Law
We realize your life can be turned on its head by a sudden catastrophe, and we aim to minimize the financial effect it has on your life. Failure to follow the appropriate standards of care, whether it be through inappropriate, careless or inadequate medical care by nurses and doctors, is known as medical malpractice.

At Shaffer Law, we handle oil and gas lease negotiations or disputes of a lease that is already in place, including issues with royalties due to mineral and land owners. We can either help you file a divorce petition or walk you through the process if you are the individual served with the petition.

Drew Shaffer began his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender with the Harrison County Public Defender's Office making sure indigent clients were afforded their right to an attorney in criminal matters. Drew graduated from West Virginia University in 2012 with a major in accounting. From there, he attended the West Virginia University College of Law.
Serious injuries and accidents can happen at any time to anyone. Most of these incidents are the result of someone else's careless or reckless behavior. These individuals' carelessness can lead to months of medical attention including surgeries, rehabilitation, and continued therapy, resulting in the possibility of being unable to work.
Everyday, people put their trust in medical professionals to properly diagnose and treat themselves and their families. Because of this trust, medical professionals have to follow certain safety rules known as "standards of care." Unfortunately, nurses and doctors do not always live up to these standards and this can lead to serious injury or death.
West Virginia is a beautiful state blessed with extensive natural resources. Among those natural resources is the oil and gas often found in the Marcellus and Utica Shales. With these resources also come many issues between landowners and the energy companies seeking to extract the oil and gas. The leases these companies provide can make it very difficult to understand what your rights are as a landowner.
When you or a loved one is charged with a criminal offense, it can be a very stressful time. Shaffer Law understands the effect criminal charges can have on a family and the importance of having a lawyer on your side that will fight for you every step of the way. At Shaffer Law, it is our goal to make sure you understand your rights and your options.
