I began in the diamond and jewelry business in 1983. After graduating from Duke University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, I apprenticed with a Master Jeweler and learned about jewelry, colored stones, and diamonds from the ground up. I also received training at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
There is a great deal of information available online regarding the "four c's". I think you should go straight to the experts and get your information from the GIA directly. The Gemological Institute of America is the definitive authority in the U.S. What better place for clear and unbiased information?

Laura was awesome. I went in and drew the worst drawing of a ring I've ever seen and she was able to visualize and walk me through designing exactly the ring I wanted. She was knowledgeable and patient as I don't really know anything about the jewelry world. She talks a little fast but I never felt like she was trying to cheat me or anything, in fact she gave me a really great deal! She was excited and got to knowy situation. Her mockups were professional and quick and looked exactly like the final output. Highly recommend!

The fiance and I went in to see Laura January of this year with a 3 week deadline to design, create and deliver the unique engagement ring of my dreams, and boy did she deliver! Laura was professional, easy to work with and extremely savvy in the diamond business. Laura is the nicest, most professional jeweler I have ever dealt with. She works tirelessly and is very quick to address and fix concerns. Her designs reflect her good taste and eye for quality. She uses high end stones so her pieces are expensive, but the value for the money is unbeatable. Something she makes would sell for twice as much in a big chain store.
