Gentleness -and not speed- is our Cardinal Virtue. Dr. Santoro became an orthodontist for the lifetime joy of progressing along with young generations. She combines decades of solid clinical experience with professional leadership and a strong scientific background. Experience has thought Dr. Santoro to personally test theory before applying it to patient care.
In orthodontics, many technical innovations are not holding up to scientific analysis. The orthodontist role should be one of patient protection from pseudo-science. Dr. Santoro's philosophy has traditionally been to practice in a "Small Operation" office that strives to excellence and grows by word-of-mouth from Well Treated, Happy Families.

Why a "Board Certified Orthodontist"? What is a Board Certified Orthodontist? To start with, an orthodontist is a dentist who has completed a (post-doctoral) graduate program accredited by the American Dental Association in the specialty of orthodontics.
A dentist who graduates from a specialty program becomes an orthodontic specialist, who is after a few years of experience eligible to become board certified through a voluntary examination process of The American Board of Orthodontics (ABO).According to the ABO, involvement in the certification process is a demonstration of the orthodontist's pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence.

What constitutes an emergency? An emergency is a problem that causes you pain or makes you so uncomfortable that is affects your daily activities. From an orthodontic perspective, very few problems are emergencies. Your orthodontic treatment will not be compromised nor extended by waiting a short time before having a bond replaced, a band re-cemented or a wire cut, unless there is pain or tissue damage involved.
Our Goal Our goal is to provide our patients with the best possible orthodontic treatment based on a scientifically valid foundation. Our diagnoses and treatment plans are designed to attain the best results possible as seen in a beautiful smile, a stable and functional occlusion and an esthetic facial profile.

I just completed a 16 month orthodontic treatment with Dr Santoro of Acton Orthodontic Associates. I highly recommend her and this practice. She was knowledgeable, explained thoroughly, efficient, and not excessively expensive. Appointment were scheduled appropriately resulting in wait times of less than 10 minutes and in the one case requiring an unscheduled emergency appointment she was able to fit me in that day by missing her lunch break. She definitely has the long term patient benefit clearly in mind. .
