Premier Physical Therapy

I had injured myself and needed to have surgery on my hip. I was referred to Premier Physical Therapy in SC and I am so grateful I was. The entire staff, (interns, reception, PT's, everyone) is so nice and helpful. Surgery had an estimated 6-8 month recovery time, and today was my 6 month and final session. They literally got be back up and running again! Thank you team, for working through the pain, the recovery and the restrengthening with me!

I hadn't been to Premier Physical Therapy in Santa Cruz for awhile and there has been a huge staff turnaround. The reception/office area, which is not separated from the exercise floor/space, is more frantic and rude than before. My healthcare provider is giving me a list of other options in the area.

I went to these folks a few years ago and had a good experience. I was referred to them again recently from my doctor and was told I had a no show balance of $100 from 2 years ago and couldn't schedule any appointments until it was paid. No bill sent and I have no recollection of what they are talking about. Unprofessional to say the least.

I had two Total Shoulder Arthroplasties (Replacements) in 6 months and went to Premier Physical Therapy for my PT. Eric put me on a program that helped me get my range of motion and strength back in both my shoulders. When I had my follow-up appointments with my surgeon, he was amazed at my progress stating that I was far ahead of where most of his patients were at that point in time. The staff at Premier are very knowledgeable, professional and courteous. I've been to three other Physical Therapy places and Premier Physical Therapy is hands down the best. I highly recommend them!

I have tried this place twice and it's horrible. The first visit in 2016 was with a PT who didn't seem to know much. I went elsewhere with good results. Today I tried again(they're in network with my insurance) and the PT called me combative because I tried to tell her what didn't work with my treatment so far. She told me to do exercises I've already been doing for months and wouldn't provide any new exercises or suggestions or do any treatment. She said the 1st visit is only an evaluation. That means I'm out 3 hours time and my copay!

I have been seeing Eric and occasionally others for various injuries for the past 10 years now and have been very happy with the treatments that I have received. The staff is very professional and extremely kind and helpful. Yes, the appointments should be made in advance. They are booked because they are GOOD! Once you know your regiment, you are given your exercises to complete and sometimes you have a one on one intern to assist and direct you. I have rehab’d two ACL surgeries in the care of Eric and Shawn, and I’m about to start treatment for my third. Not only are they knowledgeable, the team make kind and encouraging coaches. I am a life long surfer, decade long mountain bike competitor, and former NCAA athlete; there is nothing more important than my body and rightful mind. My surgery was done by a superb sports med ortho in Palo Alto. I know at Premier Physical Therapy I will continue to receive the care I need to get back to charging. Eric and Shawn rock!

Great Experience! Great staff!
I'm an athletic male in my late 20's that has been plagued with injuries. Happy to report that the two issues (back and elbow) that were at the top of my list are fixed.
I worked with Megan and the supporting staff. She was great at listening and making sure I was challenged with new exercises and upping the weight/reps.
Bottom Line: Would (and have) definitely recommend to a friend

Unprofessional, uncaring. I made an appointment with them for a initial visit, but when I arrived they had no appointment scheduled and didn't believe me that I made one till I played their voice mail back to them. They then tried to squeeze me in anyhow, which ended up with me being rushed out, getting very little time with anyone who knew what they were doing, they didn't even give me time to do the exercises I was assigned, and I was not give any soft tissue manipulation which I have previously received for the same condition at other clinics.

Avoid this clinic.

I wish I could give a review of their therapy services, but they are BOOKED TWO MONTHS OUT! If you’re in pain, 2 months is too long to wait. My doctor referred me and when they called me, i was put on hold for over 5 minutes while they checked my insurance. That was a waste of everyone’s time, since they are booked.

Last year my world was rocked, and not in a good way, when I was diagnosed with a herniated and degenerated disc in my lower spine.

My primary care physician sent me to Eric at Premier Physical Therapy saying, "Eric's a genius, he'll know what to do to to keep you away from the spine surgeon." I chuckled a little, and thought, "Doc's insane -- a genius -- seriously?" But what else was I going to do? I didn't want pain and I didn't want surgery.

Literally the worst physical therapy place I've ever heard of.

The physical therapist won't stay with you the whole time. They only spend about 15 of the 60 minute appointment with you, and leave you with an intern to monitor your exercises and stretches. When they're actually supposed to be working with you, they spend a lot of their time talking to their coworkers about weekend plans instead of actually paying attention to you.

They're also very non responsive in terms of scheduling appointments and wrote down the wrong appointment time the first time I scheduled a session

This place was a waist of my time. Simply put, trash. Went in for a bad knee, couldn't figure it out. Told them that would be my last visit so they conned me to come back by making up a new injury. (Squeezed my thigh and told me to flex, ouch) Next I came back for this "new discovery" and they didn't even bring up again, or care to re visit it. They left me alone half the time and just seemed like we're trying to get through the day.
Premier therapy made my injury worse. They charged me 700, then a month later charged me another 4 for "payments they forgot to charge

These guys were 10000% ace for rehabilitation for my broken leg, and later provided yeoman's service getting my symptoms under control. I recommend Natalia above all others, and Char a very close second.

If you get in with the right PT, you will do well.

Their billing? I could write volumes, but instead let's just rock 2 stars and be done. Tread with caution.

This is a shout out to Premier Physical Therapy, Anna Spix and crew! Even though I live in Scotts Valley, my orthopedic doctor was quite adamant that I seek out Premier. I'm happy to report he had justification. Anna was professional, knowledgeable and fun to work with. I ask many questions which were always answered and I feel as though I have come away with exercises and proper techniques to become painless and strong. Thanks to to the friendly front desk, Anna and team.

I am disaappointed with the office policy to charge $50 if a patient does not cancel before 24 hours notice. I was ill and called the morning of my appointment to explain that I did not feel safe to drive the mountain roads that day. When I arrived for my next apptmt I was greeted with the charge. I asked to speak to the person who made this decision. They told me I could E mail someone. They said I must pay before my apptmt that minute. This exchange occurred out in the open with staff and patients listening.

I dislocated my shoulder multiple times before having surgery for a torn labrum, and during that time I went to several physical therapists around Santa Cruz and had disappointing experiences. When I finally got my surgery, I wanted to make sure I worked with a great team of physical therapists so that I could come back stronger and return to surfing and playing volleyball at the same level I had been before. A true physical therapy factory. You will be assessed by a Dr of PT and then passed on to a physical therapy assistant or sometimes a kinesiology UCSC intern who will use outdated 1990s elastic band exercises on you. I saw 5+ PT'S in Santa Cruz over the last 3 years for post-knee surgery and the only legit, attentive clinic I found was Precision off of 41st Ave. Save the extraneous billing charges for ineffective modalities and avoid this place if you have a serious rehab problem.

I came to Premier after going to another local physical therapy clinic that I was disappointed in. From the very first visit, Premier has been amazing! Anna is the physical therapist that I worked with, and she is wonderful! She knows her stuff. Everyone there is so supportive, helpful, and encouraging. When I arrived here I had frozen shoulder from shoulder surgery months before. Now I have full range of motion again. Thank you Anna and the team!

After a total shoulder replacement Premier had me up and going in no time. Charlene, my therapist, is an angel and knows exactly what to do. Sit back, relax, and get to work. You will be back to "Active" in no time.

Premier physical therapy has a unique way of treating patients and making them feel like they belong. The environment is very organized and open, I personally enjoy the space. Greg and the other receptionist add to the overall environment. One thing I loved was being able to stick to two physical therapists, Natalia and Sean, they were both really awesome and definitely made my appointment more interesting and challenging. I am currently going to Premier Physical Therapy for my knee. I started having problems a while back from playing soccer and just needed to be able to run again without pain. When getting prescribed PT I actually requested to go to this place and I'm glad I did. Friendly people, efficient work, and a really comfortable environment. Magazine choices rule too
