Centrally located between Austin and San Antonio, the historic Martindale Schoolhouse was built in 1921 and is now homeroom to a new school of thought for weddings, special events, weekend getaways, outdoor excursions, and more. First, there's the expansive five-room villa that was once the original school.
Carefully curated with art from around the world, the schoolhouse sleeps 14 and has been fully modernized with a large kitchen, multiple seating areas, a great lawn and a covered veranda with an outdoor fireplace. Next, there's the Martindale Social Hall. Perfect for wedding receptions, dances, corporate outings, you name it.

We hosted our company retreat and rented out all the rooms in the schoolhouse. Craig and Wendi were very welcoming and catered to all our needs and answered all our questions. Amenities were A+ and their amazing courtyard was the perfect backdrop for a dinner under the stars. Would highly recommend and hope to be back soon!

Our family had a fun weekend celebration over the holidays at the Martindale Schoolhouse. The kitchen was fully stocked with all of the equipment and space needed for preparing large meals for a dozen, including a late night of latke-making. The bedrooms are spacious and separated for privacy (must have been necessary when running a school to have thick walls for quiet classrooms). The decor and architecture provided beautiful settings for both large and small groups to gather for conversation, board games and other memorable moments of connection. Had a fabulous weekend at the Schoolhouse. A beautiful facility, lovingly renovated and stylishly furnished, with plenty of room for you and your family, friends, wedding guests, etc. A great kitchen for cooking, a huge under-the-stars roofless gym with a stage for a band, giant fenced yard . . . it's got everything. Plus just a block or two to the San Marcos River, a short walk to the Martindale Main Street, and a quick drive to the BBQ and bistros of Lockhart. Highly recommended!
