For more than forty years, Steridose has been a leading designer, developer and manufacturer of magnetic coupled mixers and diaphragm valves for the global biopharmaceutical industry. We have also been able to fulfill the processing needs of all associated industries having similar technology requirements.
The terms "mixing" and "agitation" are sometimes interchangeable. Mixing refers to the ability to combine the components on a microscopic level, often called micro mixing. Agitation describes fluid that is in motion, but not necessarily mixing (macro mixing). For successful mixing, we need both - micro mixing (shaken) and macro mixing (stirred) to achieve the mixing action throughout the tank!
Magnetically coupled mixers had existed for years, when more than 30 years ago, Steridose became the first manufacturer to apply and fine-tune the technology for the biopharmaceutical industry. The unique requirements associated with aseptic process design were used to create specialized product ranges such as the Sterimixer and the Sterivalve.
The Sterivalve range provides high-performance flow control for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical liquid process. Its hydrodynamically optimized geometry ensures that the Sterivalve offers low flow resistances with a proven hygienic design. All moving parts in the actuator are completely isolated from the process fluids.
Allowing service personnel to safely access the impeller and male bearing without removing the entire drive unit. Depending on the mixer size, the drive units can be heavy and the available space under the vessel can be cramped. This increases the risk that service personnel will be injured or equipment will be damaged.
