We hope that both you and your child will enjoy your time with us. Starting nursery is a milestone for both child and parent and we will try to make the transition as smooth as possible. All our policies and procedures are based in the nursery reception areas, please take some time to have a look at them.

Staff are available to answer any questions you might have. In order to ease the settling-in process you are very welcome to visit the nursery with your child in advance of the starting date. Please phone the nursery direct to arrange this. We offer three alternative sessions (full time, part-time and half days).
Services
Established in 1983, Tom Thumb nursery is purpose built on one level with outdoor play facilities. There are 3 playrooms and the layout permits constant supervision of all the children. We believe children are individuals. We talk to the children and listen to them, making them feel important and that what they say is interesting.
Tom Thumb Nursery take pride in providing unique learning programmes for children that is based on their interest both at home and at the nursery. When your child enrols at the nursery we will involve you to fill in our form which tells us all about your child. This will help us asses your child's stages of development.
The Butterfly room is for children aged 1-2 years. The Owls room is for children aged between 2-3 years. The Badgers room is for children aged between 3-5 years. We provide a mixture of structured, one-to-one work and free play. Sand, water, playdough, puzzles, building blocks, shape sorters and construction toys help the children to develop the concepts of form, shape, size, and texture so that they learn as they play.
Androulla Loizou is our Safer Recruitment Officer. All references and DBS'S are applied for when a new practitioner starts at Tom Thumb Nursery. Our practitioners are recruited using our 'Safer Recruitment Policy' where they are fully checked and all have relevant childcare qualifications and experience to deliver the highest standards of care and education to your child.
Healthy eating means eating a variety of foods that give you the nutrients you need to maintain your health, feel good, and have energy. Simply the best nusery. The staff have soldiered on through the hardest times and the level of care is always excellent. Our son has benefited so much from the stimulating and fun environment.

Lovely nursery. Caring, friendly staff that work so hard to make sure the children have the best environment to learn and have fun. My son loves it here!

Excellent location, mediocre management. We had a trial week here. It did not work out due to dimwitted and rude management. Our daughter's allergy was made to feel like massive hassle. After telling the team three times that she had a dairy allergy, the manager asked me if she could have butter! We were also told we'd have to buy all her food alternatives and bring them in, and also pay for the staff to have EpiPen training. Not welcoming. I believe it only survives due to its premium location and lack of competition. Avoid.
