Over fifty percent of people over the age of 60, and quite a few younger than that, suffer from cataracts. Currently there is no medical treatment to reverse or prevent the development of cataracts. As we age the lens can become cloudy from the cataract. Once they form, the only way to see clearly again is to have them removed by replacing the cloudy lens with a clear intraocular lens implant.
Maintaining your skin's health and appearance with a regular skin care regimen at home is very important, especially following a cosmetic procedure. Our in-house aesthetician will design a skin care protocol specific for your needs after surgery under the direction of Jeffrey Goldstein, MD, our oculoplastic surgeon.

I tried ordering online my glasses from another company, the first time they came in they were messed up! It took weeks to get a new pair! I couldnt see the whole time I waited for them! When I purchased my glasses at Asheville Eye - and then broke them -they fixed them the very moment I walked in!! I was very impressed with the 4-5 times I have been in their store (Hendersonville and Arden NC) and would HIGHLY recommend them and their service!!

Zero tact or bedside manner. Staff carry a condescending attitude towards parents who are trying to figure out what questions need to be asked. We gave them three visits and came away with a worse and worse impression each time. Highly consider other offices in the area before this. Would go Zero stars if that were an option.

The doctor was fabulous. However, I was told by the staff when I made my appointment that with insurance I would only pay a deposit for the glasses until received. After taking the time to select my glasses I was told that I had to pay everything up front per the insurance company. (This was not true as I called the insurance company later to question this policy.) I had the funds but needed to contact my bank to transfer them. The associate was to call me at an agreed upon time to collect the payment and never did. Four days later I called back and was told someone would call me back. I only got

After having used the Optical Shop four times for new glasses, this time they made the new frames with the wrong prescription. When I told the oculist that I could not read even the largest print because of the visual distortions the glasses were causing, she ridiculously stated, "Well, theyre new prescriptions so you have to get used to them". I responded that the optimitrist would never give me a prescription that made my vision worse. The oculist said, "Well, do you have cataracts? That can cause distortion." And so it went until I again asked her to check the lens. She returned after about

Not a good experience. I was given inappropriate medical advice, sent out with dilated pupils without sunglasses, deposited In optical waiting area while my eyes were dilated without instructions on what to do next, my glasses have a flaw and I can't wear them and my bill was incorrect. Overall, Asheville eye associates has not lived up to it's excellent reputation. It's a shame.
I went back with my unwearable glasses and met with a technician. The advice was to wear them for a week even though I can't see it. I tried but unable. The only positive aspect to this is that the doctor wants an appt

Would never even walk into this office again if it were my only option because of the lack in urgency, front staff, and phone answering staff. My son who has complex eye conditions has been seeing Dr. Wiggins since he was two. We’ve been patching and getting glasses since with no improvement or even suggestions on different solutions and we are now coming up on the cut off to make the decision to have surgery done. Dr. Wiggins is a good doctor but we feel as if more could’ve been done if we were given more time and attention at our appointments with him. It was always a churn and burn atmosphere

I would recommend Asheville Eye Associates 5/5 for eye exams and definitely for any serious eye conditions/trauma. I would recommend their glasses department 1/5. Spare yourself a month+ long wait and just take your prescription to Lens Crafters who can have a pair of glasses made for you within hours. I ordered a spare pair of glasses from Zenni’s for $27, that arrived weeks before my AEA pair were even ready for pickup.

Skin cancer can be scary - especially when it's on the eyelid. With two basal cells and most of my bottom lid involved, I certainly appreciated the expertise and experience of Dr. Goldstein, an ocular surgeon at Eye Associates. As extensive as the surgery was, the healing process has been remarkably smooth and pain free. I appreciated the promptness at the office appointments but I really appreciated not having to wait for the surgery. They took me right in as soon as I arrived. Super nice and professional surgical staff and Dr. Goldstein called that night to follow up - which is always nice. Heading

I was scheduled to have cataract surgery but Doctor Haynes my physician or his staff did not communicate to his scheduling personnel crucial information regarding my conditions necessary for proper measurements of my corneas before surgery. It took me two days and several attempts by phone to speak to someone to correct the situation. Always I had to wait long periods of time on hold and then to speak to someone who was not able to give me satisfactory answers to my questions. Finally I cancelled my surgery because I lost faith in my doctor , his staff and the facility as a whole.
