Hello, my name is Alana. I have been teaching for over fifteen years now and I couldn't imagine doing anything else! I have worked with ages 2-12 years in both private and community school settings. I am always searching for new adventures and ideas to explore with children in my classroom.
I began my educational journey through UCC in Roseburg Oregon and I am currently partnering with my local Child Care Resources Office, Portland State and Western Oregon University to continue my educational training.I believe every child is unique and has special gifts to share with the world! We liked Alana so much that we followed her from her previous preschool to her new location. We're proud that our daughter is a founding member of Miss Alana's Preschool. Alana is a caring, qualified and exceptionally like able teacher. Our daughter loves her and misses her on days she doesn't attend.
Our preschool academic day begins at 9:00 am and ends by 4:00 pm when we head outside for our final outdoor play time of the day. The extra hours in the day are there to help families with differing work schedules at no extra cost. There is a two full day enrollment minimum. We have found that this aids your child in establishing a routine, creating meaningful connections and helps them to feel more secure in their surroundings.
The latest they will begin rest time is 12:30 with rest time ending at 2:30 on these occasions. There are days that require more attention in helping the children prepare for rest time. We allot for extra time in the afternoon due to pick ups and children slow to wake after rest time. We explore a new country/Theme every month and each week includes new skills/academic focus along with regular activities.

Alana is a caring, qualified and exceptionally likeable teacher. Our daughter loves her and misses her on days she doesn't attend. We've found the care of instruction to be great. Weekly topics are addressed in an email on Sundays so we know what to expect. The curriculum is outstanding and well planned out, including lessons on world cultures, animals and other fun topics. Art projects are all keepers being intricate and fun

This is an excellent program, would highly recommend! Both of my children have attended Miss Alana's Preschool and we've been nothing but pleased with the quality of education they have received in addition to all the fun they've had along the way. One of my children 'graduated' from Miss Alana's this summer and was fully prepared for and even ahead of the rest of her Kindergarten class. Alana is incredibly creative and patient, we are so thankful to have discovered this gem of a Preschool.
