Morningside PlayCare cultivates the language genius, open mindedness, and wonder-filled hearts of young children. We do this by providing nurturing care, as we immerse children in the Mandarin and Spanish languages through play, authentic creative activities, Yoga and exploration of Nature. We are a 100% Mandarin and Spanish immersion program.
Play, Language Immersion, Nature-Science, Yoga - that's what defines and distinguishes Morningside Immersion PlayCare. We are a 100% Mandarin and Spanish immersion program. That means our teachers and caregivers speak to the children 100% of the time in the target language while they engage in our core curriculum: play, nature exploration, and yoga.
By definition, a Language Immersion program provides the learner with the experience of being exposed to the target language for more than 50% of the week, over the course of months or years. It is important that the learner be engaged in the regular activities of school or daily living. According to linguists and neuroscientists, immersion is the quickest and most effective method for acquiring a language.
Our In-Person After School program is for PreK through 2nd grade children who already have some previous exposure to Mandarin or Spanish. Making School and Childcare Work During A Pandemic: This program is our response to the ways in which school has changed due to the pandemic. Universal PreK is a government funded Pre-Kindergarten program.
