Adath Jeshurun Preschool focuses on every area of the child's development. All children are considered regardless of race, creed or national origin. The emphasis is geared toward individual, social, emotional, physical, cognitive, linguistic and intellectual growth.
From beginning problem-solving, reasoning and critical thinking to the nurturing of creativity, sharing and individuality, the staff at AJ Preschool allow each child to develop at his or her own pace.Activities are designed to engage, challenge, and stimulate our children. A typical day in our infant program will include many multi-sensory activities. Our infant play space is filled with toys, books, balls, and gross motor play sets. Some activities your child will experience throughout the day are finger plays, singing, talking, cuddling, and reading. Your infant will enjoy stroller rides and quiet time to get quality sleep.
Our toddler program has a few things that start to look slightly different from when your child was in our infant program. From now on, AJ Preschool will provide all snacks and meals for your child while at school. Please feed your child breakfast at home so she/he can make it through the early morning until the morning snack around 10:30am.
The framework of our preschool curriculum is organized around areas of interest that support the learning process through play. One of our goals is for the children to enjoy school and to begin their school career with a positive attitude towards learning. We want them to be encouraged to have a positive self-image and make decisions for themselves whenever possible and appropriate.
If your child is in our four-year-old Pre-K program, then they will have enrichment integrated throughout the day This includes additional and intentional planned structured activities such as math games, phonics and writing activities, and problem-solving challenges. All the planned activities will be challenging yet enjoyable for the children.
