Went to check out this hotel with an environmentally sensitive companion. We asked just to check out the room just to make sure that no room fragrances are our laundry soaps would set off her condition, they said under no circumstances would they allow us to see a room before paying for check in.
Wasn't asking for an unaccompanied key, it's on the beach in the middle of winter time, there were multiple staff around and we were the only vehicle so it wasn't like it was too busy to accompany us.

This was by far one of the worst places I've stayed at. Even worse that a highway motel with no carpet. The tub paint was lifted, curled up and chipping. The bar lock on the sliding door was broken. No way to secure the door. There was white popcorn ceiling flakes from the ceiling all over the bed and carpet. The ceiling was the worst. There was cracks in the ceiling. The ceiling was also dented in like it had caved in at one point and instead of fixing it they took spray popcorn ceiling and filled it in. When the lights were off, the glow from the TV showed more cracks and the size of the area

My sisters and I booked this for a “girls getaway” and couldn’t have been more pleased. A beautiful ocean view, with breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, and it’s just a short walk to the beach. Within minutes of a drive there great restaurants all around.
The manager Brett L was very gracious as was the cleaning lady who was assigned to our floor.
A good time was had by all!

Again where to start!! Way over priced and way more than dirty!! When we complained we were given another room that was more dirty than the last ! The view of the beach is a parking lot and $300. A night is way over pricing for 3 people for such a nasty location. We requested a refund and left, driving all night to get home. Location is giving Tybee Island and bad name. Such a nice little location but such a bad experience.

I honestly don't know where to start, we were so excited to visit Tybee beach that we didn't do our research, we randomly picked a spot that we felt that was on the beach and walking distance to shops but not in the middle of it, Hotel Tybee seemed like a good spot, but..... it is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at on a beach anywhere!!! Hotel Tybee should be ashamed, honestly it's awful, it's more of a place where people go to party and don't care about cleanliness, or customers, or safety, or anything else other then how much money they can put into there pockets

Wonderful place to stay on vacation. Everyday was a treat. We had a room with a beach view and it was stunning. This place is very close to bars food and clubs. Very clean and the room are very big and comfortable. I would choose this place again and again every time we go back to Tybee Island. Love ya.

Bathroom was a hot mess and had obviously not been cleaned properly in a while. The ocean view is amazing except for the parking lot between our room and the water. Access to the beach and pier is literally steps away. All in all its great and I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others visiting the area.

I called the front desk (around 12:32PM) regarding a charge that shouldn't have been charged to my debit card since I canceled my room 72 hours prior to my book in date. Instead of helping, the lady at the front desk was EXTREMELY rude for no reason when I was simply trying to explain the situation. She cut me off while I was talking and had an attitude. Now, I know where NOT to take my business.

The Ritz Carlton it isn't. I'm not sure where the renovations were because it wasn't our room or the carpet throughout the hotel. Plaster was peeling off our tub. There was only one small trash can per room which makes it difficult because there is no daily cleaning service. Overall cleanliness would be a C minus. The pools were nice but only 2 of the tables had umbrellas. It definitely was not what I expected. One positive was the elevators worked.

This hotel doesn't provide basic items like towels and toilet paper. There are no maid services at all until checkout. They give you a card to ask for these items. You place the card on your door and they are suppose to leave them for you. They don't, they just remove the card. For $300+ a night, stay anywhere else.

BEWARE! Where to start?... The pictures posted online make it look like a quaint and nostalgic hotel right on the beachfront. Far from it! FALSE ADVERTISING!!! This is a good example of when you should listen to your inner voice from the start. Lightening struck the transmitter box while I was checking in and the hotel lost WiFi and some power. That was the first sign I should have run fast and far! The front desk staff was nice and accommodating by letting us check in early. Then, as we were getting our bags to check-in, two different women told us to check the beds because they discovered bed

Why oh why did I not check Yelp first?!?!?! Yes this place is way overpriced, yes it is filthy (toenail clippings on the floor), yes the hotel is run down. Was it worth it? No!! When we checked in I went to the lobby restroom, there were dirty underwear in the floor. Later in the elevator a man so kindly told us his grandkids had bedbugs. ( we saw NO sign of that). The pictures on the website have to be at least 20 years old. Checked out early and when she told me it was non-findable, I said "worth it bye". Save your money go somewhere else.

This hotel was like a student in the school who didn't apply himself and basically just did the minimum to get by the bathrooms were all dirty no one comes and gets the garbage. I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all it's a shame because it's in a very prime location if they spend a little money maybe it be a nicer place to stay I would never recommend this place to anyone since every bathroom the sink drain smells like a toilet every time you flush it no one wants to respond to any issues and everyone here seems to hate working here as much as people hate staying here.

This was the dirtiest hotel. Carpeting is nasty and we made sure that we wore shoes all the time. They charge you for everything including an "activity fee". I want to know what this includes because I am not sure. The bathrooms that were recently renovated were a joke. They are tiny and they look like someone threw on a coat of paint and called it a day. The bathroom was not clean when we arrived and I had to clean the shower of all the sand and hair that was left in it. Constant beeping in the hallway from who know what and the air conditioning was extremely loud!

I understand that 'location location location' allows people to charge way more than expected.
However $750 for 2 nights at this hotel makes me feel violated.
This was by far the nastiest hotel I have ever set foot in. I've been overseas while in the Army, in tents and it wasn't as bad as this.
Everything is DIRTY, even the walls have food, mood, cracks, and rust... somehow. The fridge doesn't work, and the microwave takes twice as long as normal ones.
I was terrified to sleep on the beds because of the condition of everything else. I kept feeling like something

I must say, I honestly didn't expect to hear from the hotel just because of my review. I just wanted to express my experience because I truly was disappointed. Ms. Donna reached out to me and was so apologetic, I really do appreciate Hotel Tybee for hearing me. Businesses usually don't hear us, and I was heard. That means everything to me. I will definitely go back and share what I know will be a good experience.

Beware! Bait & switch advertising. Received an email from them announcing their annual $99 per night sale on rooms. The ad specifically states "any room $99, our best sale of the year, all rooms just $99 including rooms with an ocean view". Required a 2 night stay, and based on availability. We tried to book an ocean view room, that was available per their website and confirmed by hotel staff was available for 3 nights, at the advertised rate. We were told to that there were no rooms available at the advertised rate. "All" rooms and "any" rooms has a

It's got all the amenities you need and it's right infront of the beach! They have a little tiki bar and they give you free drink chips when you check in. Right across the street is a yummy icecream shop The room itself is clean but a little outdated and sometimes they have a problem with their card reader to get in the room. Kind of a pain getting my key then having to walk all the way back to the office that is separate from the building itself to get a new one. Also being woken up early in the morning to VERY loud maintenance work is also a major downside. Overall with the amenities

*WARNING* MOLD! MOLD! MOLD!
If I could give this place -10 stars I would. I've already reported this place to the Better Business Bureau. Aside from the misleading website pictures, careless service, damp towels, wet carpet and overall MOLD infestation and the awful mildew smell that came with it; the beach was great. But if you're looking for a place to stay in Tybee Island DO NOT go here!
