Services
The River Valley Aikido Club has been practicing in Brattleboro, Vermont since 1992. We are a not-for-profit club. The responsibilities of membership include coming to regular practice and keeping up with dues which go solely for expenses. The River Valley Aikido Club is a member dojo of the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba, an international federation of more than 70 dojos.
Here you find the resources such as dojo handbook, our facebook group and soon to be added videos and images from our training. After our last round of kyu tests we thought it was important to provide everyone in the dojo with a link to the ASU Student Handbook. In the handbook you'll find all the testing requirements, rules of the dojo, and some great points of dojo etiquette.
We teach Aikido not as a scheduled curriculum, but as a stream of experiences. There is no next course. A person simply starts when they are ready. It is our experience that the new student makes the best progress by simply jumping in and getting his or her feet wet. A beginner can do the practices that they can cope with and sit out those they are not ready for.
