Services
Serenity House Counseling Services, Inc. is a non-profit, community-based comprehensive treatment facility offering addiction recovery services to adult men and women as well as adolescents suffering from the disease of chemical dependence and substance abuse. We respond to the needs of men and women regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, or HIV status.
For over 30 years, Serenity House has consistently and successfully met the increasing demands for substance abuse treatment through our full continuum of care that includes Adult and Adolescent Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient services, DUI, as well as our Halfway Houses and Recovery Homes.
Our Halfway House services are unique in DuPage County as we remain the only facility of its kind offering a 90-day Extended Residential Treatment program specific to assisting individuals recovering from substance abuse.Our programs provide a holistic approach that focuses on integrating men and women back into their surroundings as self-sufficient, productive members of their communities while improving the quality of life for their families.

Henry Tews's passion and vision has helped thousands of men and women recovering from substance abuse disorders to rebuild their lives and return as productive members of their communities. A recovering alcoholic's last request so moved Mr. Tews that he spent the next 20 years working to open the first comprehensive treatment center in DuPage County.
If you have received a DUI arrest, Serenity House Counseling Services counselors will work with you to complete your classes as efficiently as possible, while helping identify any concerns that may have led to the arrest. We will also address the problem situation so that you will achieve your goals.
Intensive Outpatient is a highly structured, abstinence-based program designed to help individuals create a structure of recovery from substance use disorders. Serenity House employs an integrative approach, utilizing an evidence-based curriculum that includes Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to assist clients with their Substance abuse recovery program.
