Dr. Michael Keverline is an experienced eye physician and surgeon who comes from a family of Pennsylvania ophthalmologists. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Keverline earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
He completed a transitional internship at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh and then completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at the Eye and Ear Institute of Pittsburgh.Dr. Keverline is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

People are often confused about insurance issues related to their eyes. The confusion likely stems from the existence of "Vision Insurance". Blepharitis is the chronic inflammation, or infection, of the eyelids and the eyelash follicles along the edge of the eyelid. Blepharitis, which is not contagious, affects patients of all ages. In more serious cases, sores can form when the crusting skin is removed, the eyelashes may fall out, the eyelids can become deformed, the infection can spread to the cornea, and patients often experience excessive tearing.

Great staff!, They are friendly, courteous and professional that work to ensure you are completely satisfied. Dr Hallberg is my optician and he and his staff perform a thorough and complete eye examination. He takes the time to explain everything and answers any questions or concerns. He also makes recommendations that have really helped my eyes. I completely trust my eye care to him and the other professionals at Southside. Also, Talia in the optical dept. has been extremely helpful in keeping my glasses cleaned, adjusted and replacing the nose pads as needed.

I loved going to the eye doctor, I used to take my mother there when she was living. I have been going to Southdide Eye Care for a long time. I have the same doctor my mother have and I loved the eye glasses place that is there as well. I love the lady that helps me with my glasses as well. It is well clean and pleasant. I recommend anyone that lives in the church land area to find the Southside Eye Care be it is a well place to receive what ever you need to take care of your eyes.

I've been going here for 5 or 6 years. I had a brow and lid lift a couple years ago and from the 1st time I went to them I was very impressed. They are very professional and take care of insurance and everything. I'm headed for surgery on Dec 1st to remove cataracts from my eyes I am scared lolol like a big baby but I've heard good things about this optomologist. I feel like he will make sure his patients are taken very good care of. He does the injections in your eyes during surgery so you don't have to use the steroid drops. I love Southside Eye Care. I am always treated like I matter and the Optometrist Dr Hallberg is down to earth. The Nurses are always personable as well as the Front desk receptionist. The eyeglass department staff is also awesome. Everyone is very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. Thank you everyone for always making me feel like I matter.

I was with VEC and there service was awful. I switched to Southside Eye Care and there service, staff, and doctors are excellent. If you are tired of waiting for service on the phone for 10 or 15 minutes, feeling like a number rather than a person, 2 hour office visits (mostly sitting in a waiting area), never getting a call back, and not getting the service you pay for give Southside a try. You will wonder why you waited so long.

I went in to pick up glasses for my mother. The woman behind the register was distracted and speaking over her shoulder to someone a few feet behind her. She greeted me and I told her my reason for coming. She asked if my mother had called ahead to let them know another person would pick up her glasses, I replied that I wasn't sure. This is great office , however on today the receptionist shoved paperwork n my face . I advised her that I have already competed those forms. She refused to accept my statement (Chris and Maggie) This was a very stressful visit.,I feel like a energizer bunny after my check in.The doctors assistant made me feel more comfortable. While prepping me for the doctor a senior perdi came in..never acknowledge that I was in the room..then we share a verbiage for a few seconds..she said she saw me way back however she was hanging pictures so she didn't or ,didn't care to speak..whoever

I came here after my regular ophthalmologist (a specialist who doesn't prescribe glasses prescriptions) told me to get new glasses because my prescription has changed since last Fall when I got new glasses. Ann with Southside told me I was seeing 20/200 with my old glasses and would be seeing 20/60 and 20/80 with my new glasses. Dr Keverline cautioned me to wait to get new glasses but I have waited 3 months and my regular opthalmologist said my prescription has been stable for months and I could not function at 20/200 vision (that is legally blind) so I ordered new glasses knowing that I will

Great customer service! I was well taken care of. Eye exam went smooth, personnel was pleasant. I was very happy with the customer service in the optical shop- Alexis was very patient with me as I was trying on a lot of frames and she helped me pick the right frame. She also helped me fix my current glasses by changing screws.
I will be returning here for my next yearly eye exam!

I returned today to have the eyelid surgery done. I really love the professional attitude and care given by Dr. Keverline. Although this was to be a very minor procedure I was very nervous when I arrived. Dr. Keverline talked me though the entire procedure which helped immensely.
He then removed the two growths almost painlessly and quickly. He has very steady hands and I never felt uncomfortable. His assistant is very upbeat and charming. She made me feel very much at ease.
With a very short wait in the waiting room included I was in and out in around an hour.
