Our camera uses the latest technology to simultaneously take a picture of the inside of the eye while also performing Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) to take careful retinal measurements. are great and very professional and very helpful. Plus is they are fast and still get excellent care and easy to get appointments as well. I recently refer my husband to Gilbert eye care he absolutely love his experience with them as well. Plus they have excellent price for glasses for all budgets which I love since I work on a budget. I had a wonderful experience at Gilbert Eyecare. From the moment I walked through the door I was greeted with warm hellos and obviously very happy employees. I had zero wait and I was treated so well. The opticians were responsive to questions and explained everything so well. Then the lovely woman who helped me find my frames was amazing. I don't think I have ever been this excited about a pair of eye glasses!

I was recently down to visit my daughter and family last week from Pennsylvania and bent my glasses very badly while trying to get out of their hot tub. One call to you guys and I was told to come right over and was blown away by what a great job Bernadette did fixing my glasses and what a warm friendly atmosphere at your facility. Highly recommend! Dr. Gilbert does more than the typical, run-of-the-mill eye exam. He truly takes his time during each of my visits to actually understand MY life circumstances, and then determines the best approach for improving my vision. His staff is extremely friendly, professional, and efficient; from reception and eye techs, to finding the… perfect pair of glasses, they always ensure that I'm comfortable and happy with my visit and my purchases. Although I've moved to another state, I will always return to Virginia Beach to see Dr. Gilbert.

Highly recommend! I went to the Norfolk location and Dr. Gilbert was wonderful. He took the time to explain everything since this was was 1st time having an exam. The ladies then helped me pick out frames the… worked for my face. I was nervous and the whole staff put me at ease from the phone call to make the appointment until today when I picked up my 1st pair of glasses. Thank you to everyone! 100 Stars ⭐️

Dr Gilbert is always great to deal with. He is not the typical Dr who rushes in and out. David takes the time to explain things to you. He is friendly and easy to deal with. The whole office staff is great also. I was welcomed as soon as I came in. The technician helped get me prior to seeing the Dr was also very friendly and helpful. Setting the appointment online was easy. Go to see Dr Gilbert you wont be disappointed.

Great Service!!! We went there to get my Mums glasses fixed. She is here for vacation an the little things that let the glasses sit on your nose (I obviously dont know the right term for it - but hopefully you get what I mean) broke and therefore had to be fixed.
The friendly woman who welcomed us to the quite busy store, fixed the glasses within Minutes, cleaned them up for us and did all of this without charging us a penny! That is great Service. Will definitiv come back here to get some sunglasses for myself :)

Be very careful here. I NEVER had an Optometrist bill my Blue Cross Blue Shield for a "medical decision of low complexity" for a just a refraction exam. I asked for the invoice at end of the time of exam - they could not provide due to computer issues. I asked again months later - nothing. Now many months later I am billed for services that were never asked about nor detailed during the exam of my child.
This is possibly unethical and I have reported it to the insurance board for false charging.
BE CAREFUL! Ask for the invoice!!!!!

I had a wonderful experience at Gilbert Eyecare! I would highly recommend this location due to their awesome customer service & quality of products.
Unfortunately, I broke my glasses trying to clean them right before going into work. Thank goodness I had backup contacts, but prefer to wear my glasses. My prescription was expired and I needed one immediately! My husband called around and Gilbert Eyecare was the ONLY place that had open appointments on a Saturday.
We arrived about 10 minutes before my appointment and there was some new patient paperwork I had to fill out. The staff were friendly

My wife broke her glasses, unfortunately, so we popped into Gilbert Eyecare for an exam. They took care of us quickly and were very friendly!
From the receptionists to the doctor, they genuinely cared about how we were and how our experience was going. We laughed, chatted, and had a great exam. The equipment seems to be up to date as far as I can tell. Our appointment started right on time, too!
I highly recommend Gilbert Eyecare for eye exams. The glasses are a bit expensive, but you can get cheaper online.

When I transitioned out of the Navy and asked my neighbors to suggest an optometrist, they recommended Gilbert Eyecare. That was a great recommendation. Dr. David Gilbert conducted a friendly and patient-focused eye exam. He took the time to understand my vision needs and to answer my questions. In a similarly patient way, optician Courtney Thomas guided me through frame and lens selection and fitting. I could not be more pleased.

I can't say enough about Gilbert Eyecare! The optometrists here are simply amazing. I had an ocular migraine for the first time and Dr. Gilbert himself gave me his cell number due to how scared and in pain I was and called me every 15 minutes until my vision was restored. They saw me the day after and were so kind. They were the first optometrists to fully answer my questions and explain my particular eye sight and astigmatism to me. They take great care in educating their patients and I really appreciate that. I trust the doctors here implicitly and will continue to rave about this practice

I recently switched to Gilbert Eyecare. Previously I was going to another eye care center that I was very unhappy with. A friend of mine referred me to Dr. Gilbert & I couldn't be happier with him & his staff. They were able to get me a last minute appointment b/c my contact prescription expired with my old doctor & I needed new contacts ASAP.
