For more than twenty years, serving as an educational leader and raising my own two children, I dreamed of a place like Discovery Village. In July of 2019, I was blessed with the opportunity to open this magnificent center. The journey preparing to begin Discovery Village was filled with meaningful experiences.
Discovery Village Childcare Center and Preschool offers the care of a village, the creativity of an art studio, and the discovery of a science lab, embracing children from 6 weeks to 5 years in high quality childcare and learning. At Discovery Village our young villagers are immersed in quality care and learning.
Early childhood education jobs are among the most meaningful positions available. As an early childhood educator, you make an enduring impact during the foundational first five years of a child's life. Discovery Village combines the care of a village, the creativity of an art studio, and the discovery of a science lab - not just for our children, but for our faculty and staff as well.
Created onsite by our own leadership team and teachers and constantly updated, we begin with children's sense of wonder and curiosity. From children's interests we design activities that incorporate skill building preparing children for Kindergarten and beyond.
Language and communication skills, phonics, pre-writing, math, the arts and sciences, physical education and nutrition, Spanish and Sign Language, social-emotional skills and so much more is incorporated within playful experiences.Time outdoors is an integral part of our program. We emphasize learning by doing, through play as well as projects in which each child has a unique role, while contributing to group creations.

Nutrition, exercise, and conversations about promoting physical and emotional health and well-being are central to the Discovery Village Experience. Children at Discovery Village are physically active. Opportunity for both indoor and outdoor active play occurs daily at our day care and early childhood learning center.

I was very anxious about switching my son from a babysitter to daycare center but Daria, Shira, and all the staff made the transition seamless. I pick my son up each day with a huge smile on his face. He loves all of the teachers and asks every day if he can go to school. The love that all of the staff have shown my son is appreciated more than they will ever know. Their communication and responsiveness is superior and my son has learned so much in the two months he has been there. I could not recommend Discovery Village enough.

Dr. Shira Leibowitz has a great center and is dedicated to having the best learning environment for children. The staff are loving and attentive, the center is clean and well organized and I see happy children which is very important for me to be able to trust them!

My son started Discovery Village at the age of two. When we first walked in Shira Leibowitz (CEO) made us welcomed and gave us a tour. My son loves Discovery Village, he has learned so much with there with hands on school curriculum and projects we would take home weekly. They also have a app for the parents to see pictures of their child and engagement activities for the day.
I highly recommend Discovery Village to any parent this place has given me a peace of mind throughout my day at work.

We love Discovery Village! They provide an educational, yet fun and loving environment for our child. The facility is clean, up to date on all policies for state/local needs, and the teachers are amazing with the kiddos. The administration is also well organized and on top of everything. We are so happy our little one is in the Discovery Village family.

Discovery Village is an wonderful childcare center and preschool! The teachers and staff have created a warm and welcoming environment. My oldest son (4) loves all the science experiments and fun activities that the teachers plan. My younger son (1) benefitted from the clean and loving environment in the infant rooms. The dedication they’ve shown to the families throughout the COVID-19 pandemic has been above and beyond. I would highly recommend that any family looking for a safe and positive environment turn to Discovery Village!

Deciding to have my son start daycare for the first time was such a difficult time. Since the beginning Discovery Village has made the whole process such a breeze. Ms. Daria has helped me with the whole process making sure I had all the appropriate paperwork so my son could start as soon as we were ready.
It's been over a month now since he has started and I couldn't be happier with the care and how much my son is learning. His teachers Ms. Bianca & Ms. Deborah always let me know of his day and assure me I can check in as much as I'd like too. The app used in the center gives me the assurance

We have been very happy with Discovery Village as our daughter's daycare. The staff is always friendly and greets her by name when I drop her off in the morning which always puts a smile on her face and her classroom teachers are wonderful: patient and kind. My daughter has learned so much in her time there and we are very happy with the emphasis on curriculum, learning, and helping children develop their skills. She loves it so much she often does not want to leave at the end of the day!

Finding a quality daycare where you feel comfortable enough to leave your child is no easy task. Discovery Village in Tarrytown is a wonderful place that truly treats your child like a member of the family. The staff is so warm and kind. Ms. Edsriel is an amazing teacher who is attentive, energetic and enthusiastic about the children in her care. The Director, Shira is very hands on and can be found cuddling an infant or engaging a toddler. I’m so glad my daughter and son in-law chose Discovery Village for my grandson. I know he will thrive in this environment. It’s a wonderful place!
