We have created this website in the hope that it will provide information in selecting a funeral firm. Recommendations from well-informed relatives, friends, and professionals are very helpful.

A well-established firm with an honorable reputation in the community is a good choice; we are the oldest family owned and operated funeral home and crematory in Palm Beach County, and the ONLY family owned and operated funeral home & crematory in West Palm Beach east of I-95.The firm you select should be known for intelligent, courteous and understanding service.
Services
In 1950, Mizell-Faville-Zern Funeral Homes established the Northwood Chapel. At that time, no funeral home existed north of the downtown West Palm Beach corridor, and the population was growing. Northwood Chapel was opened to better serve that community.

After returning from his tour of duty during the Korean Conflict, Ernie Gagnon came to work at Northwood Chapel in 1957, and in 1968, purchased the funeral home, keeping the name of Northwood Funeral Home.As the communities of Singer Island, Lake Park, Palm Beach Gardens, and North Palm Beach grew, so did Northwood's business.
Northwood Funeral Home & Crematory is situated on U.S. Highway 1 (Broadway), in West Palm Beach. Originally built as a private residence, it was turned into a funeral home in 1950, to better serve the needs of the northern communities. Designed in the Mediterranean style, we have created and atmosphere unlike any other funeral home in the area, and we strive to maintain the building with the highest standards in mind.
We understand that making the many decisions which come at a time of loss can be difficult. We offer our support by providing you with two options as you consider making immediate arrangements. Funerals have been a part of the grieving process since the beginning of human history because they help us move from life before death to life after death. The graphic below illustrates the impact of the benefits of a funeral and can help you begin the healing process. A funeral service can mark the significance of the life that was lived.
For centuries, funerals have helped us say goodbye. No matter what kind of funeral ceremony you are planning, it helps to understand the parts of a meaningful funeral. Each element serves a unique purpose and plays an important role. When you put the elements together, you create a ceremony deserving of the special life that was lived.

Excellent care and service for my father who was being buried at Arlington Cemetery. John L. Was very professional and Gracious though the whole experience.
They handled all the details, making everything flawless with transportation, and care for a true hero. God Bless America.

Quite simply...the BEST! Our priest recommended them, and we were hesitant in going, but we soon found out we did not make a mistake. Nothing beats a family owned business. They went above and beyond, and everyone was raving about how great mom looked, and how the whole funeral was run with such grace and class! And they were so much less than the corporate funeral home in North Palm that we have used. We went their Friday and it was horrible. Nothing like what we got at this funeral home. You will not make a mistake in using them

I attended the funeral mass of my Uncle on Thursday. It was run by these folks. All I can say is FIRST CLASS all the way. They set the standards of how other places should run funerals!

We received very very nice service in June 2018 when our loved one passed. This is a well run funeral home that is not owned by a chain.
