Brown Colonial Mortuary
Brown Colonial Mortuary remains deeply committed to the health and well-being of our community, our guests, and our associates. Based on guidance from the CDC and the governmental officials regarding public gatherings, Brown Colonial Mortuary is providing restricted traditional funeral and memorialization gatherings in our chapels and our smaller visitation rooms.

Utilizing these essential services will allow families to address immediate needs and allow the option to schedule memorialization services at a later date. We will continue to serve our families with the same level of excellence, despite these temporary limitations. Please contact us for more information.
Services
Roy Brown entered the funeral business early on in his career, at the time learning every aspect of the funeral industry from his father and predecessor, Harold R. Brown. A Member of the Order of the Golden Rule, Funeral Directors of America and Kiwanis club, among others, Roy truly serves each and every family by the Golden Rule, and instills this same philosophy in each and every staff member.
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.
A viewing, funeral and burial are always considered traditional, although you don't always need to have a viewing. Nor do you need to have a funeral at a church or in our chapel. Some people now choose to have the entirety of the funeral at the graveside.

Through the years, "Traditional Services" has taken on new meaning, and we at Brown Colonial Mortuary realize this and willingly accommodate the needs of the family, including incorporating cremation into more traditional funeral services.
Cremation, otherwise known as a Final Disposition, simply means that instead of being buried, one is cremated. And if a cremation is ultimately decided upaon, familes can still have a viewing and a funeral, and then have the remains cremated. At Brown Colonial Mortuary, we offer a rental casket as well as a large selection of alternative containers -other than caskets- that are suitable for these types of funeral services.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.

Terrible service we felt so unwelcome! We were grieving a loss of our niece and brought food and was told no food or drinks what’s so ever due to the Covid? So how come you couldn’t accommodate us and our family outside with a canopy of some sort? We had to feed our family and guests out f our truck while in the parking lot they were detailing cars! Not to mentioned they closed off one of the two bathrooms for their personal use while we had a line of people trying to use the restroom! I have never felt so uncomfortable in such a sad circumstance. We were told we could bring drinks, but never

Was told we had 50 swapable seats but the day of they weren’t allowing to swap so only the 50 initial people can go in or out. Ultimately was lied to about agreed upon deal. I was very disappointed with not being able to see a loved one one last time because of last minute changes.

Had two funerals in one month we called for the first time and they said capacity limit is 50 due to covid but you can alternate people as they go or go by groups. Ended up going with a different alternative but for the second funeral called again and told us same thing that the limit is 50 but you can alternate people. The moment the funeral started and the 50 capacity was reached they then decide to tell us you aren’t allowed to alternative people in and out anf had half our guest waiting outside. Majority of the first 50 guest that entered only planned to enter for a little while and leave

During the most difficult time in our lives, Ralph Rodriguez provided the most professional and caring service. He went above and beyond to make sure my husband did not have to linger in the morgue in the hospital. The thought of that horrified me and he drove to my home late at night to have me sign release papers(which hospital failed to do) and transported my husband to Brown Colonial Mortuary that night. He helped my daughters and I every step along the way with compassion and patience. He was even able to find us a priest to provide services during Holy Week. I was so pleased with the quality

Ralph was not helpful in many ways. He failed to inform our family that our loved one had been cremated 15 days ago and his excuse was "I was busy, I work 16 hours a day." When a phone call or a text at most takes 2 minutes. He also provided us with a box that is not accepted at the cemetery and now we have to buy another one.

Services provided for the cremation process were empathetic, professional and punctual. Big Ralph was an excellent point of contact because of his knowledge, thoroughness, compassion, and promptness. We were able to arrange and complete all the services within one week.
Strong recommendation for this facility for all mortuary needs.

Losing a loved on is never easy especially when all the arrangements have yet to be made. Fortunately, cousins were able to direct us to a family mortuary in our time of need. We went in to the office and talked to Ralph and he helped us get all the arrangements situated (for about $3,000 less than most Orange County mortuaries). From the time we decided to utilize Brown Colonial's services to the time of Grandpa's service we had been in contact with the mortuary several times and were very pleased with communication from the start. We received a text message letting us know when they had picked
