My name is Timothy Pope. I am the owner and inspector at Craftsman Inspections. Born and raised in San Marcos, Texas, I have been a professional home inspector since 2004. Slab foundations are known for having significant problems in Texas and specifically in our Greater Austin area. Due to the expansive nature of our clay based soils, the foundation under your home is likely to move and shift with the changes in the weather. In times of drought (or what we call a normal Summer), the soil will shrink and crack causing it to no longer hold the concrete footings of your slab at the same level.
Your home's foundation is the important structural base that supports the rest of the house. But, because it's largely out of sight, it may not always be apparent when it begins to fail. The key to preventing foundation damage is by regularly inspecting it at least once a year. By doing so, you'll help nip problems early and thus prevent costly repairs.

Tim was very thorough and professional during the inspection process. He answered questions and walked me through the house explaining all the issues he saw, both good and bad. I received the written report the same day as the inspection and it was very helpful - lots of pictures and specific information about what needed to be done. I will be able to use the information to both get professional repairs done but also fix alot of small DIY things that will help maintain the value of the property. I highly recommend him.

Tim was great! I highly recommend using him for your next home inspection. I had to change plans around a couple times and Tim was very flexible and easy to communicate with to ensure I was squeezing in the inspection during my option period. I showed up at the end of the inspection and Tim provided me the highlights as we walked the propert. The report that followed was very detailed, well-organized, and easy to follow. Timothy of Craftsman Inspections provided an exceptional and thorough home inspection. I initially contacted Craftman Inspections and requested a quote online. I immediately received a response from Timothy with a detailed overview of what the home inspection would entail along with a very affordable price quote. His price included a completed interior and exterior home inspection along with sprinkler system. My home was inspected prior to purchase. Mr. Pope was professional and returned his report quickly. He explained his findings clearly and made sure I knew what potential hazards/damages I would have in my home.
I owned the house for 6 years and made many renovations during that time. Mr. Pope’s direction helped me to prioritize my renovations. In six years I never had any surprises ragarding the condition of my home.
Later I purchased another home. Mr. Pope was not available at that time to complete my inspection. However he found and recommended another home inspector to take care of my needs

Timothy Pope came to our home for our 1 year Inspection. As a new home owner, we have had our concerns with what has changed in 1 year. The confidence and knowledge Mr. Pope provided really helped calm our concerns. Price was straight forward, no funny business (hidden fees). Timothy was fast at responding to an email with questions that I had. He worked out a special price for my neighbor and I, which we booked back to back inspections. The builder we bought from has a 1 year warranty, so I wanted a thorough inspection prior to that year being up. Timothy was a few minutes early (which never happens in this line of work) and very personable. He took photos, went through the house with a fine tooth comb, and submitted his report later the same evening. If you are looking for a home inspector, I would recommend Timothy and his services.

Our experience with Craftsman Inspections was excellent! Tim was punctual, professional, and extremely helpful throughout the inspection process and answered any and all of our questions (and I had a lot)! He was able to schedule an inspection for us at a time of our convenience with very little notice and really came through for us! His background in foundation inspection really showed when he discovered a slope in the house. He was able to point us to recommended, licensed, structural engineers to follow up with.
