Our experience did not go well at Shady Grove Rehab Center. I visited dad 5/6 days a week. I witnessed a lot of wrong and a few good things with this place. There is a new DON (Evelyn) and I’m not too sure if she has the capability to turn the place around. I don’t want to put the blame on all, just to name a few of the bad nurses; Mr. Freddie and Tony were rude and lazy. The younger female GNA’s would always make an excuse when asked a question or unresponsive (bathing/feeding) and they would have their name tags reversed. Medication was not administered on time and

First time at this hospital last week for a surgical procedure. I arrived much earlier than I was supposed to because I live a great distance away, and didn't want to leave 'on time', then run into ridiculous traffic on I95 and end up late. Still yet, I was processed in rather quickly.
When we arrived at the main entrance, the front desk member had me go over to the sanitation spot and change my mask to one of their masks, and use hand sanitizer. I was then sent to Registration. Pre-registering went pretty quickly since I'd already pre-registered over the phone the day before

My parent was here for rehab following a hospital stay. I have never been so disappointed in a medical care facility. They never seem to know what is going on. They lost his belongings, which still haven't been found. Left him roomless for over 3 hours after taking him to an appt that we knew nothing about. The daytime receptionist is the rudest human I have ever met. They request for you to show up at certain times and are never ready. They seem extremely disorganized!! Upon discharge, we had a medication issue which couldn't be resolved because everyone leaves early on Friday!! Good luck to us

Never,ever send anyone you love here. My mom was admitted after 12 days in hospital recovering from almost loosing her foot to MRSA. They did not follow Drs orders...no antibiotics or wound care. We had to get her back to ER after 24 hours. No one answered the phone...for hours. They left her to sit in her own mess for hours. Horrible! When we called the ambulance to move her to ER and paramedics said that they pick patients up from there all of the time due to horrible treatment. This place needs to close now...26 patients to one nurse...unacceptable. 0 stars

My mother was recently a patient in this facility. The physical therapist was very good. However I CAN NOT say the same about the nursing staff. EVERY SINGLE MORNING I would have a complaint from my mother. Whether it was the hours of waiting for someone to help her to the bathroom IF THEY EVEN CAME IN AT ALL, or them yelling at her which I was witness to over the phone several times about soiling herself because she had to wait for that help and they were not happy about having to clean her up. Recently I had to transition from hospital to a rehab center. I was very hesitant to do so since my last experience of rehab facility was a disaster. I chose SGC because it was near a hospital. The nurses and nurses aids took such great care and were so professional but also treating you like family. The therapist we’re also unbelievably kind and professional. I would highly recommend this rehab center to anyone that would need it. You are treated with such care and understanding.

PISS POOR SERVICE!!!! My grandmother is living in this facility and she is 94 yrs old. I've been trying to reach her for THREE DAYS and no one can seem to help me get her on the phone. It makes no sense to me that someone answering the phone isn't able to ensure my grandmother can receive phone calls (especially in her condition and especially since we are not able to enter the facility to see her). THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. The people answering the phone DO NOT CARE. Trust and believe, if I reach the right person - they will hear my voice on this.

I am in this place and I can say that the staff they have are a problem in itself. You press the call button for help and it takes a half hour to an hour for someone to see what's wrong. You ask one of them for something they say they will be right back and you don't see them anymore. The only decent part of the place is the rehab staff. look out for the night crew, they are loud and you hear them but when you call for one, they don't understand what you are saying and they only do what someone has shown them and nothing else. keep out of the place at all cost. Do not take your loved ones to this facility, my dad went there because of fall risk and he fell, my mom was there to rescue him . If she was not there he would have been on the floor for hours. They were told and it was also put in the system that my dad is vegetarian and he still continued to get meat. For three days no house keeping in the room . He has not been bathed or sponged.

I had my left.hip.replaced and needed additional rehab afterward...how worried and scared was I..
Then I found SHADY GROVE.CENTER!!
I cannot say enough about the compassionate.care and skilled physical therapy I received here...incredible doesn't even touch it.
The nursing staff are wonderful, delightful, experienced and so.understanding and compassionate. Never missing a smile and cheerful.greeting. They make each day easier to focus on achieving one's goal of healing and obtaining full recovery.
The therapy staff both physical and occupational are equally talented with the best
