Nutrition counseling is a dynamic exchange exchange between our registered dietitians and our clients'. We provide tools that can help make positive changes in diet and lifestyle. As well as, wellness education at all stages of life from childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and well into one's senior years.
Services
The nutrition care process helps determine the goals for client centered care. Through an initial meeting between the client and RD, which usually lasts 60-90 minutes, Betsy (our staff) and client will determine priorities needed for enhancement of diet and lifestyle. Clients will leave this appointment with preliminary tools needed begin making positive change in their diet and lifestyle.
Medical Nutrition Therapy is the term used to describe the nutrition care plan that a registered dietitian can provide. This includes a thorough nutritional assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and monitoring/evaluation. The RD works in conjunction with other members of your health care team in order to afford maximal positive changes in one's diet and lifestyle.
Why Speak to an RD?- a registered dietitian is considered the "nutrition expert" and has had specialized training in the field of nutrition to prevent and control disease. An RD has completed an accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and has completed a minimum of 900 hours of supervised practice as well as must pass a national exam.
Diabetes is a chronic medical condition that if left uncontrolled, can have short and long term affects that will decrease one's quality of life and lifespan. Diabetes and obesity are associated with elevated rates of lost productivity and disability.

As a Certified Diabetes Educator, Betsy has specialized training in teaching people how to minimize risks associated with diabetes and control their blood sugar, body weight, and enhance quality of life.Through diabetes education and training, she will teach you how to incorporate healthy eating and diabetes in order to minimize the risks associated with this condition.
Beginning in June of 2011 we began offering an exciting new tool for safe and effective weight management and optimal health in our practice.

Due to the obesity epidemic and the fact that many of our clients have chronic diseases where obesity is the root cause of such as Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol we began to research programs that offered safe and effective weight reduction and included an effective component for helping change behaviors that contributed to this problem.
