Berkshire PowerTech Inc was founded in March of 2000 by a group of nine highly technical design and manufacturing engineers all who have excelled as leaders in companies such as General Electric, Lockheed-Martin and General Dynamics. The company began in a small office below The Brewery in Pittsfield, Massachusetts and eventually expanded to its current location in the Valley Industrial Park in Lee, Massachusetts.

Our company is a small business that provides big business expertise from original research right through to production and fielded support. Berkshire PowerTech is primarily a mobility systems business centered around power transmissions, however our experience covers a great many commercial and military fields.

Another short cycle (7 week) development program to provide a high speed PTO drive for a wheeled combat vehicle. The BPTi PTO mounts without modification to an Allison truck transmission. This geartrain was devised to allow repositioning of the OEM starter. The entire geartrain translates during engine start to engage the flywheel.
Our team has extensive experience in Program and Project Management in both Military and Commercial programs. We routinely seamlessly integrate our in-house multifunctional teams into our customers' and subcontractors' teams. BPTi will adapt to any customers' program management style. Design Engineering spans Research through Detailed Design principally of Mechanical, Hydraulic and Control Systems.
