In 1844 explorers John Fremont and Kit Carson discovered Lake Tahoe. In the summer Lake Tahoe Basin was a gathering place for three bands of peaceful Washoe Indians. The lake held spiritual meaning for the tribe and many sacred ceremonies were held along the southern shores. Development at Lake Tahoe began in earnest in the 1950s.

Can't even say enough great things about this hotel! I stayed here with my sister in the summer and we are still talking about how amazing it was. The staff was so friendly and gave us lots of recommendations, they had a gorgeous lobby with a movie playing one night on the projector, we roasted marshmallows and played games at night, it's so close to downtown and also the lake. Super quiet neighborhood and fun to walk over to the beach bar for a sunset drink. The restaurant next door was so delicious we ate there for almost every meal lol. And our room was great too. We ended up wanting

We stayed 2 nights here recently and enjoyed it very much. It was very clean, cozy and very close to everything nearby. They have a very nice restaurant that serves great food, only bad thing is they open at 9am. They have 2 fire pits outside to sit around and stay warm which was nice. They also have board games in the office lounge and a giant Jenga game to play as well. They did not have a microwave in the room but I was able to warm up my food in the main office. Certain nights they have movie night in the office lounge with a big screen and a comfy couch to sit on. Our room was nice and clean

This was a great find. It was clean and kindly run and my son and I had a nice stay. The rooms are motel-style, but nice, and the property has just enough personality in the lounge and outdoor spaces to elevate it a little bit above a traditional motel. Walking distance from the lake. The restaurant is especially good. We would stay again.

We have really enjoyed our stay here. It is clean, comfortable, and convenient to everything. The products in the room were good quality. The customer service is excellent. We felt welcomed and our dog loved it here. The food in the restaurant is very good. Love the coziness of the property and fire pit. Only thing I wish was a larger pet relief area especially during the night. We would definitely come back and recommend it to others.

This is the absolute cutest most cozy place we have ever stayed at in Tahoe! All of the staff was beyond friendly and helpful! Our room was perfect, the size was great the vibe was amazing, bed was comfy! Everything was just so thought out about our entire stay for a weekend getaway with the hubby
& corn hole! One of our favorite outing games, next to a fire pit!!

Man, times change when you are getting old. Back in the day, we spent my 21st birthday in Tahoe and this place was not what it is today. If I remember correctly, we stayed around the corner from here at a dive motel and loved it! But, that was when I was young, dumb, and full of com... completely ridiculous thoughts and stuff.

Horrible customer service! The problem we had was with the room assigned. I was given a room and when we walked in we noticed the carpet was wet. I immediately notified the front desk and they offered to go up and dry the carpet! I went and came a couple of times to my room and carpet was still wet! At the end of the day when we were getting ready to call it a night the moment we walk into the room we noticed the room was hot even though the AC had been on all day. I immediately went to the front desk and informed her of what was going on. She pm shift front desk and maintenance guy shortly notified

Really enjoyed our stay. Recently renovated with an outdoorsy theme. USB charging outlets on both nightstands and the desk. Clean. Great water pressure. Good location within walking distance of Heavenly Resort and a private beach (fee but front counter has discounted pass). Complimentary hard seltzer and soda at front desk when we stayed. Pool and fire pit area were clean and comfortable to hangout. Free onsite parking. Will stay here again.

Every staff member has gone above and beyond to make us feel so welcome and cared for. Our room is freshly renovated, so fresh and modern with custom soap that smelled incredible. We have a 12 year old Labrador retriever, they helped arrange a a first floor king size room so we didn't have to carry him up and down the stairs. They even ran treats over to our pup upon arrival.
We only booked our room for a few days and wanted to extend our stay. Our room was booked the following day. Stacy was kind enough to call the new guests and try to arrange another room for them, hoping to keep us in

This hotel was spotless, hotel was absolutely lovely. The post cards, the matches, the lobby....Love the remodel they did. Seems they are still working on the outside of the building, pool and hot tub were closed. There were no q tips or bathroom type toiletries in bathroom. Towels were soft and plush not some hand towel size (lol) I definitely can't wait to come back. Great location, walking distance to lake and to NV state line and plenty of restaurant options. Parking is a bit tricky, we have a large van promaster and spots are tight. Hotel parking is included in with stay...

Booked through Hotwire and were lucky we got this place. It was clean, comfortable a d conveniently located near Base Camp.
The staff was friendly but was somewhat distracted with other tasks so it didn't feel like we had their full attention (He was ready to get off work and as soon as his relief showed up he stopped helping us and said, "she'll help you." I didn't mind it too much as I understand that when it's time to get off work, it's time to get off work.
The price through Hotwire was one of the lowest around so it was double bonus!

So we found this diamond with the help of travelzoo. I was kind of worried because we normally stay on the strip. I will soon find out, staying on the strip is dumb.
We checked in and check in was a breeze. Now it was time to head to our room. One word to describe our room, AMAZING. The room was perfect. Very cozy and had all the needed amenities plus a fridge.
Our room was a 9 minute walk to heavenly and the strip. I now realize we don't ever need to stay on the strip. The other cool part was the fact across the street was a decent slope where the kids had a blast sliding down the slope

We normally stay at a different lodge down the road but they were fully booked so we decided to give this place a shot and we were happy we did!

This was quite a good hotel for the price. The room was large ("Roomy King"), clean, nice decor, there were lots of convenient hooks for hanging things, comfortable bed, lots of pillows, etc.
There was a fridge and coffeemaker in the room, but no microwave, which definitely needs fixing.
The pool and hot tub were a bit dirty -- the water needs more skimming. But the nicely-isolated pool-side cabanas were great.
The location is great: close to the beach, close to the Heavenly Village shops and I-50, close to the Nevada casinos, etc.
There was a fridge and coffeemaker in the room, but no microwave, which definitely needs fixing.

I definitely loved this cabin-ish feel I got staying here for a small winter break getaway with my family. You honestly get cabin-like vibes staying here but inside the room itself, of course it feels more like an inn the way it describes so you get the best of both.
Inside was neither fancy or terrible. It was decent and perfect for a short stay!
There is complimentary breakfast and I want to give credit to the short staff service because they were honestly working their butt offs during a packed busy morning. They still were being respectful, had bright positive greetings and you can tell
