For earth's sake and your health, we have initiated a series of green practices that will make the earth healthier, and you too! Besides our "core" practices of cleaning and laundering with exclusively green products, our guests can now conveniently recycle on site and rest assured they are contributing to earth friendly practices every time a light is turned on or a shower is used.

Love at first sight! The Desoto is a treasure. Immaculate rooms, beautiful garden, steps away from the beach, caring innkeepers. Quiet location. Free bikes make the Hollywood Beach boardwalk minutes away, and you can walk to two nearby restaurants -- one on the Dania Beach Pier and the other on the Intracoastal Waterway. Our studio room had a well equipped kitchen. We made one shopping trip to the grocery store, Publix (five minute drive), and never got in the car again. Complimentary use of large, soft beach towels (not the scratchy pool towels at some resorts), sand chairs, umbrellas, grill.

This place was amazing far beyond my expectations. Clean inside and the grounds were kept beautifully host Doug went there and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible was always there to answer question and help with any of our needs. The amenities from bikes to chairs umbrellas one min walk to beach. And room had everything we could possibly need garden was the perfect tranquil end to a perfect day. Definitely will be our choice place to stay when we go down never met a bunch of friendlier staff made us feel welcomed

The Desoto Inn is a gem! I have stayed twice over the past couple of years and have enjoyed every moment. The inn is steps from the beach (a nice quiet strip of the beach!), and and also a short distance from the Broadwalk.
The overall "vibe" with all the plants and lights is also so lovely and cozy. The owners are also very kind. We enjoyed the bikes as well!
I have no doubt that I will be returning for another stay soon.

20 steps from the beach with the BEST sunrise, is a well hidden secret. This location offers clean rooms and common areas with lots of comfort spots for reading and eating. Perfect getaway during Corona and any other time! Will definitely come back here again, where time stopped still and offered relaxation.

This place is phenomenal!! The gentleman that was there running the hotel was one of the nicest people. He went well above to make sure my boyfriend and I had a great experience. He gave us soap when I didn’t have any for laundry and even washed our car when he noticed it had a film on it from our travels!! The room was comfortable and the garden area was great for us to enjoy our dinners and morning coffee. It was very clean and cozy. The bikes were complimentary and we could use them at our convenience. I can’t say enough great things about this place and the people that work there!! The

This place is a hidden gem. We have stayed here 3 times already. We are from Phoenix, AZ and every time we think about Florida we think the Desoto. Steve is so accommodating, we always have what we need and so Bikes, beach towels, beach chairs and fishing poles and more. The inn is so clean and full of absolute charm. This place will not disappoint in anyway. Thank you Steve for always taking such good care of us. We have a few days left and are already thinking about our next trip. Fantastic location and price!!! All the amenities (beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, bikes, books) make it even better. I stayed in their smallest unit. 2 stovetop burners, miniature refrigerator (larger than a mini fridge), plenty of dishes, coffee maker, toaster, & blender - nicely tucked in the corner of room. Nicely decorated, A/C worked great, towels weren't stiff or smelt of bleach. Huge closet & ceiling fan. Bed was comfortable too! Perfect space for a solo or couple vacationing.

My wife stayed for two days. The rooms are lovely. A full-size refrigerator., full stove, microwave, toaster, CD player.
Queen bed and sofa w mattress. Would excellent room for the small family. Price responsible. Check Southwest vacation.

If you idea of a great vacation near the beach then this you spot. A vintage hotel with a very modern twist. Old eclectic building and rooms that is powered by solor pannels on the roof. A beautiful lush grarden just outside your door. I have saved the best for last Steve the inn keeper was awesome.

Wanted to share this experience. We recently stayed with Steve & co and I managed to lose a pair of old shoes during the trip. No big deal, but after arriving home I received a $50 gift card from Steve so I could replace them. In no way was it their responsibility but they chose to send a gift anyway. I'm as amazed by their hospitality after the trip as I was during it.
I believe other guests have said enough about the place itself. The room was perfect and we loved the courtyard where you can sit watching all kinds of wildlife. You're less than 2 mins walk from the beach. Steve

They will not rent to you if you smoke. I'm in the area for work so called to ask about rates. Was looking to stay a few months. The guy asked how many people, I told him just my wife and myself. He asked if we smoked, I said my wife smokes. He said they don't allow smoking anywhere on the property. Guess he meant they don't allow smokers on the property. I'll give someone else this three months worth of money.

What an amazing little beach treasure. The Desoto is not your typical beach resort. It has an old Florida feel with lush vegetation in the courtyard and eclectic furnishings. It was only a minute walk to the beach, and I loved borrowing the bikes to take on spin down to the Hollywood Broadwalk area. This place was exactly what we needed to get away from it all. 10-15 minutes from the airport and great Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale restaurants, we will seriously consider flying down to the beach again.

This is a quality inn and every detail had been anticipated for a relaxing, pleasant and delightful stay. HANDS DOWN THE BEST HOTEL/INN WE'VE EVER STAYED AT! On August 14t-19th 2015 my boyfriend, sister, and I were lucky enough to have stumbled upon this charming hotel and book a room day of check-in during the Florida's slow season (their neighbours told us they were all booked up for last winter!). We were even surprised with a "fourth night free of charge" during this time of the year!

First and foremost I can't tell you how welcoming the whole staff at Desto were to my family!
My first encounter with staff was with Issac on the first morning as he offered me a breakfast snack on the patio. Seems like everytime I turned around there was Issac offering a smoothie a snack a breakfast treat or just a smile.
Next up Steve and I believe Josea? Both these guys seem to be always wandering the property and very engaged in my families enjoyment.

After much research, my husband planned our stay at the Desoto sight unseen. We flew into Flordia on Saturday, picked up the rental and made our way to Hollywood. We had an early flight and planned on just stopping by to confirm the reservation. Upon arrival, we were mesmerized by the beauty of the Desoto. Josias greeted us as if we were old friends and showed us around the Inn explaining all the amenities (books, bikes, umbrellas, coffee, basically anything you could ask for at the beach). I love the courtyard kitty that hangs out. It's very shy so it's not bothersome at all.

We stayed at this peaceful "heaven" over Labor Day weekend. We had a one bedroom on the second floor. Very clean, colorful but tasteful decorated and very homy. Loved that the Hotel is "green" and signs with "recicling", "no smoking" and the most wonderful vegan/gluten free breakfast under the tiki hut in the lushes garden added to the charm.
