We are artists. Artistry inspires, sharpens, and defines our approach as we seek the principles of beauty and incorporate them into our work as residential architects. This approach challenges us to explore every angle, to consider more deeply how we merge form with function, and to paint a portrait in architecture of our clients' unique lifestyles.
We began designing custom homes in 1983, under the name Curtis Gelotte Architects. We set out with a vision for crafting distinct residences that reflect the lives of the people who inhabit them. With time, we forged relationships with local craftspeople and built a selective team of residential designers committed to art through architecture.

Services
At Gelotte Hommas Drivdahl Architecture, our architectural design team is committed to exceptional service in the pursuit of exceptional homes. We work with clients to understand their vision and bring their luxury home to life. That's because residential architecture is about far more than configuring a series of rooms and creating a nice exterior.
For principal designer Scott Hommas, architecture is a natural outpouring of his desire to create. The Montana native remembers first experiencing the full impact of architecture during a family vacation; he was "blown away" by the splendor of Lake McDonald Lodge in Glacier National Park. That early fascination with the impact a building can have haunted him, and in 1986, he earned his degree in architecture from Montana State University.
Exquisite form and function merge into a single entity when we artfully adhere to high standards of scale, proportion, and alignment. We harness the playful moodiness of natural light to energize the character of each space. We compose dramatic structures through articulate and wedded spaces, always drawing inspiration from the surrounding setting and our clients' unique preferences.
Dedicated to "Making Happy Happen", the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County works tirelessly to protect animals, support pet owners, and enhance relationships between animals and people.
