Services
The Scarborough, Maine office is right off of I-295 next to Lois' Naturals and easily accessible from the greater Portland area. The office has a beautiful spa atmosphere complete with a waterfall, art by local painters and coffee bar. There is a game room with a foosball table and stand up arcade machine-the kids love being early for their appointments so they have more time to play!
If you have pain or an emergency situation, every attempt will be made to see you that day. If you have an after hours emergency, we have an answering service on call 24/7. Dr. Podhouser or a staff member will then be paged immediately and return your call as soon as possible. Please cancel your appointment 24-hours in advance so we can keep the schedule running smoothly for all.
During your initial appointment either Rita or Nadine will meet with the patient to discuss what brought you in, review your medical history form and take a panoramic x-ray and photos. Dr. Podhouser will then give the patient an exam and present probable treatment. He will also take the time to consult with your general dentist and other specialists involved to ensure that your care is optimally coordinated.
For over 20 years, Dr. Bruce Podhouser has been creating the smiles that people love to show off. After graduation from Tufts Dental School and completing a one-year General Practice residency, which involved a significant amount of emergency dentistry and head and facial trauma, he continued on with a two-year orthodontic residency at Montefiore-Albert Einstein Medical Center in New York City.
Eric was a dentist in the Philippines before moving to the U.S. and then he served in the US Navy for 8 years before joining OA in 2002. At OA, he is the Operatory Manager and oversees our website and social media pages. He is married with two children and enjoys golf, table tennis, bowling and playing music.

Wonderful. Both my son and I received treatment from Dr Podhouser and his staff. The results were phenomenal but more importantly the care and attention to detail made all of the difference. My son is on the spectrum and not once did he have any issues at his appointments. I highly recommend this practice.

We are out of towers on vacation and staying for a week in Scarborough. Totally forgot my son's runner bands for his braces. (Guess I'm not getting the Mother of the Year Award.) I called Ortho Assoc to ask if they could provide us with bands. They couldn't have been more friendly and helpful! Wouldn't even less us pay anything. Thank you for lessoning a mother's guilt! We enjoyed the rest of our vacation! Thank you so much!!

The care I received as an adult who needed Invisalign was nothing short of perfect! The entire staff is knowledgeable and very friendly and the office atmosphere is so pleasant. Dr. Podhauser listens, gives his expert advice, and is professional. Lastly, the laid back approach takes any "nervousness" away! I would recommend their services to anyone in need of orthodontic care!

As a former patient, along with my husband and daughter I can strongly recommend Orthodontic Associates! Dr. Podhouser is really nice and the entire highly trained staff do a great job explaining your treatment. On time appointments, (and even same day appointments for emergencies), lots of parking, a beautiful, spacious office, fun contests with great prizes for brushing your teeth. The new Scarborough office, right next to Lois Naturals, is gorgeous! There is a game room for the kids, coffee bar for the adults and lovely local art and a waterfall. It feels like a spa! The staff is warm and kind. Dr. Podhouser is the best! He is patient, explains treatment clearly and is very sweet.
