Services
La Vista Memorial Park is the only family owned and operated memorial park in San Diego County. We have a proud heritage of serving San Diego families since 1868, and we have a reputation for putting families first for all of the more than over 150 years we've been here to serve.

More than a century ago, on a cold and foggy morning, the early settlers of Rancho De La Nacion (now known as National City) quietly turned spades on earth on a hill above their lands. The first families - the Kimballs, the Copelands, and the Dickinsons - gathered to bury Mrs. Francis Wicapaw of Philadelphia or, as she was commonly known "The Little Mother."
We have worked with every mortuary in San Diego County and often assist out-of-area families in coordinating local burial arrangements for their loved ones. Our commitment to service and detail has earned us the trust of families of all faiths throughout San Diego. San Diego families know they can expect more from La Vista Memorial Park, and we work daily to meet to exceed those expectations.
Imagine planning a wedding in just a few days. Why leave the ultimate celebration of your life to the last minute? Get the peace of mind that comes with pre-planning and rest assured that your final wishes will be celebrated the way you want. Ask us about future planning, and how we can accommodate your final wishes.
It is a pleasure to work hand in hand in a united effort to showcase the founding Kimball family and the history since 1868. Lady Janice Martinelli and National City Historical Society are eternally grateful to La Vista Memorial Park for their dedication to Historic Preservation. My grandfather, father and sister are all laid to rest at La Vista Memorial Park.
For over a century La Vista Memorial Park was always considered just a cemetery, but now it has become an integral part of the fabric of our community. It has become the place where we all can come to celebrate, individually and as a community, loved ones both present and departed.

The Memorial Day and Dia de los Muertos celebrations are indeed highlights that are among those things that have transformed a community necessity into a wonderful community asset! We recommend others to pre-plan their burial arrangements. My husband and I have been talking about pre-planning our funeral and burial so our son doesn't have this burden on his shoulder.

I give this place Zero stars. This is how the gardeners work. Weed whack around gravestones and leave a freaking mess.

Our family paid a grave stone months ago roughly 6 months ago... and yet nothing. Not even a status of where it is at or estimated time. Save your money and buy elsewhere.

When we first buried a family member in this cemetery it was well maintained. Now, several years, and many other family burials later; this park is only kept up in the newer sections. I worked for 30 minutes on Memorial Day to free the vase on my grandfather's grave.( I am nearly 70 years old.) My grandfather's grave, as well as my brother-in-laws, which is very close by, is sinking into the ground. Each time I come the name stones are so overgrown with weeds and grass the names can't be read. Once I came and my family member's stone was completely buried and grass had grown over it entirely.

La vista does not keep their “pledge” to you , me or anyone. They completely exclude blood relatives in favor of a fraudulent woman claiming to be a “wife” without any legal documents to prove a marriage. They completely shut out family who has documentation to prove the fraud . They don’t return calls in a timely manner if at all. They say one… thing and do the complete opposite! Besides this cemetery is a dump! Brown grass Un-trimmed gravesites to the point the headstones are grown over. I asked a “favor” a letter stating my father died they refused

Do not do business with La Vista Memorial Park in San Diego. People don't know how to do client service. Very rude people especially that councilor Patricia Tehran. They're not accommodating and not sympathetic with people who lost their loved ones. They're only after their business and money. They don't honor contracts from the last owner of this Memorial park. Unfortunately, my mother and brother were already buried there. I really wish I could rate 0. And no restrooms.

Called twice to find a loved one and didn't get too far both times second time I was hung up on that was in the process of giving information to see what area he was buried and I was hung up on.
Both time seemed like the women who answered the phone didn't have time to deal with anyone very short and rude.
Sad when we have family coming to see him from out of state and we will have to go walk the entire cemetery to find him by ourselves because staff can't tell us where he is buried. Just plain laziness. Disgusting. Family has been trying to get here for four years & for what. Nothing. 😡

A great resting place for a love one. My family visit the La Vista monthly or more often to pay respect to our Mother. There is a lot of privacy. Great staff!

We recently lost my father and out was very difficult for us to handle his services especially due to covid. My wife had to handle everything for us and we have nothing but positive things to say from the office staff, Gabriel and Patty were great. They made necessary adjustments down to the last day before my dad's service and never made us feel like we were bothering. Patty even let us text her late at night and still responded. The chapel was updated and looks great. 2 large TVs for our slideshow and they provided a frames to hold my dad's pictures. The chapel has both men and womens restrooms

$10 for parking, $5 per person for entry and advertising says it’s a kid friendly event but there is NOTHING for kids to do. Just a bunch of vendors selling overpriced Hispanic items, and a stage. Don’t waste your time.

The memorial day service that was put on here today was one of the most fulfilling things I've ever had the opportunity to take part in. Mrs. Louisa is an absolute saint and I cant wait to take part in any other service her family hosts! Thank you for the service you provide Mrs. Louisa if there is anything you need just ask and I'm sure I can gain support from my command! God Bless!
