Since 1953, the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Greater Austin has served as the leading professional trade organization dedicated to residential construction and remodeling in Central Texas. With more than 700 member companies and thousands of community members, the HBA works with government, public, business and community organizations in six counties - Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Lee, Travis, and Williamson.

The Home Builders Association of Greater Austin (HBAGA) is the voice of Greater Austin's residential construction and remodeling industry. Through advocacy and education, we aim to enhance the business climate for members, and to provide quality obtainable housing to the community. HBAGA members are the top building industry professionals in Central Texas.
The HBA of greater Austin is a unique organization that offers amazing opportunities to increase awareness of factors impacting the home building community and to gain knowledge of almost every aspect of the profession. The Association and its members willingly share information that gives us a leg up and a support team.
Joining a council or committee is a great way to make connections and impact the work of the HBA. HBA Councils are groups that have formed to focus on a particular segment of the building industry. Some Councils restrict membership to a particular member type and some require a separate annual fee to be a member.
As part of your membership in the HBA, you also become a member of the Texas Association of Builders and the National Homebuilders Association. Each offers valuable benefits to support your business. If the business practices of the Immediate Past President of the Home Builders Association, (Marshall Durrett), is any indication of this association, then I would question their business practices as well. While Marshal Durrett was President (2012), he did not uphold his obligation to pay the subcontractors for their work while building our home. Unfortunately, we are not the only homeowners involved. There are two other projects that suffered the same fate. Would you expect different behavior with someone holding this title? I would hope so.
