The practice opened in December of 2008 with a single Nurse Practitioner and business plan intended on a 10 year growth period. Efforts that surround the principle of doing good for others and placing God before ourselves has turned a simple concept into a mission of change within the community. As a result, the anticipated 10 year mark was achieved at the second year of business.

In 2013, we moved to our present location and are continually trying to find ways to improve the quality of care we provide and look for ways to reach out to our community. We have grown to a multiple provider practice and are offering services unique to the high country.

****PICKING AND CHOOSING PATIENTS****
While I genuinely dislike writing negative reviews I do feel this system of practice should be brought to light when searching for a primary care provider. My family and I are new to Ashe County. I fully admit that it has been several years since my last physical and bloodwork. After experiencing symptoms of what could have been a TIA on Monday, it kicked me into swift gear in finding and getting back into routine medical care. I searched google and came across Ashe Family Healthcare. Some reviews were good and some not so good. The ones with Jordain stood

My father who was prescribed medication by his neurologist was told by Michael that he could quit taking it because he was feeling better and he didn’t want to take it.... It was one for his mood issues and nerve pain. He came crashing off of it and took off to who knows where. He is 80, scared, confused and Alone right now. I’m sure before the week is over he will be back in the hospital. Thanks for checking with his POA and his neurologist prior to making changes for a situation you know nothing about. We all appreciate it. It was very irresponsible.

I have used Michael Griffith for a few years as my primary care doctor and had insurance during that time. I do not have insurance at the moment due to career change but was having a tightness in my chest and thought it was something to do with my lungs since I had been sick the week before. I made an appointment for that day and let the front desk know I did not have insurance but thought it would be less expensive for me to get checked out with my primary doctor than go to the ER and rack up a debt there. The lady at the front desk agreed and they made me pay $85 up front for the visit. I waited
