Every time I look at my self-applied manicure, and realize that my hands look like 9-year-old boy hands (a 9-year-old who also happens to be a mechanic), I make an appointment here. After I'm done, I feel like a whole new woman. They have a really great color selection, and can do basically anything you want to your nails.

Three weeks ago I came In for a gel manicure. I left with chemical burns under 9 fingers and the side of my thumb. When I called to say I was in pain and my fingertips were oozing liquid, the manager told me to soak my fingers in acetone-which the doctor said was a horrible direction. After insisting they remov the gel for me after struggling under the manager's directions, it was all whispering so other customers wouldn't know what had happened to me. Butter no longer offers vegan/low toxin gel nail polish. For a gel mani/pedi before a special event, I asked for my nails to be trimmed round and even. The toenails were cut square and all nails- toes as well as hands were very uneven. After spending $100, it was frustrating to spend an hour when I got home to cut and file them down to even out the nails (and round out the toenails).

Overpriced for the work they offer. I was left with 4 ingrown nails, edges that were piercing other toes. Just poor pedi job.
I always get gel powder, always. So I know the process. This took longer than necessary as tech didn't seem confidante in the removal and setting. 1 week in and they're pealing off the bed. Last time this happened to me was 4 weeks in and I wasn't able to get them removed due to pandemic. She coated and dipped to my Cuticle. No cleanup or outline

Gel manicure today with Jenny on my super-short nails. We used OPI's "I'm Not Really a Waitress" and "Winter Champagne" on accent nails. Jenny did a great job, took her time, and didn't rush through the appointment. You'd be surprised how many nail techs have rushed through a manicure to my disappointment. I'll definitely book with Jenny going forward.

This place is AMAZING. Jenny is FANTASTIC and does a great job with nails and gives incredible massages. Really, everyone there is great. They are so organized, and even when it's busy, they know what's going on and are on top of it. The facility is really hip and clean and has a great vibe. Go here!

Don't come here unless you want to get verbally assaulted by the psychopaths that work here. Manicurist was irritated from the beginning because I was holding my phone and by the end of the session she made a huge scene yelled at me and lied about the whole thing. WHAT AN EMBARRASSMENT OF A SALON!

I think this salon is hit or miss depending on who is servicing you. I could tell other women coming in were regulars who had that real, deep bond with their nail techs.

I was not happy with my services. As I left I was EMBARRASSED to say anything because the woman who did my pedicure tried to say my feet were the issue. Even though she cut my feet and carelessly chemically burned them. . Here are the photos of my feet. This is 1 week later. You can see she cut me on top and the chemical burn sores on my big toe. This place is great, if you don't mind paying overpriced nails lol. I have been coming here because the first few times i had a great experience but the past two times have not been so great. The last time i was here about a month ago. I got a gel manicure with black tips & My nail technician sent me home with wet nails because they were busy and close to closing time. They told me i was fine i get home and i noticed air bubbles underneath the coats of nail polish. I had to come back the next day and make time for this. Me and my partner took a Pedi at this Butter Nails and Waxing. The 2 lady's helping us out were kind, however the one lady helping my partner out never cared to ask about his sensitivity to the soles of his feet. I must say the lady left his feet butchered, come on!!! It was like watching that botch show on TV when people come out looking all HORRID!!!. Overall a pleasant experience. Had an appointment for a powder dip mani and regular pedi. The place is HUGE, there were probably about thirty others getting their nails done while I was there. If you are looking for a more relaxing, intimate atmosphere, this is not the place. It felt kinda rushed and the lady who did my pedicure tried several times to up-sell me a more expensive pedicure. Hence the four stars.

I was at work earlier today and I noticed that my colleague had FIRE nails- like absolutely stunning SHORT nails. I love long nails but after having had serious damage done to them I'd been looking for a salon that could do short nails well.
Butter is it. I walked in and the girls at the desk were sweet. I showed them a picture of what I wanted (complicated Halloween design) and they were hesitant at first, but my nail tech (Alex) looked at it and was happy to give it a shot.
From the beginning Alex was kind and worked really gently on my nails- I'm pretty sensitive and peel my nails

Best nail salon ever! Yen is super talented and artistic. I've done dip powder and gel-x with nail art with her. She does them so beautifully every time and they also last a long time! I get a lot of compliments! Another thing I like about them is that they keep the salon clean all the time and they treat their workers nicely! My gel manicure stayed on for 5 days. It just started peeling off. I called to ask if it could be re-done. She said no.

I have a regular place I've been going to for years, but they are not open on Sunday and I'm leaving on vacation and needed a Mani/Pedi so I walked into Butter. It was about a 30 minute wait, but they had told me and I was fine with it. Mimi did my manicure and was amazing. I would definitely have her work on me again . This is the best nail salon I have been to in Los Angeles. Believe me, I've been to a million nail salons in Los Angeles. Butter Nails already has a great reputation in the neighborhood. They are always busy, so you should call ahead to make an appointment.

My last time here I got nails as a paper thickness. 3 of them cracked on same day as I did manicure. My fingers are so sensitive even on 3rd day after procedure. You can see on photos how red is it. I never made bad reviews, but here I want to show people that you need to be careful and ask workers not overdo with your nails.
