Bill Lane is a professional photographer living in the New Hampshire seacoast community of North Hampton, who specializes in marine and editorial photography. Bill began his career in photography with the Air Force in 1959 serving three years in Germany as a ground-based photographer.

This was followed by twenty-one years as staff photographer with the The Daily News in Newburyport, Massachusetts, six years teaching photography at Governor Dummer Academy and twenty-four years freelancing.Currently, he works out of his North Hampton home of fifteen years and teaches beginning photography lessons to students in a one-on-one setting.

The six-week course is designed for those at a relatively basic level who have an SLR camera-either film or digital-and have a strong interest in learning about the functions of the camera with regard to exposure, digital aspects, and composition. One-on-one courses are held weekly for 1-2 hours in the instructor's home studio.
An all day Saturday workshop, "Light, Lenses, and Composition, " for a maximum group of 4, so I will have plenty of individual time with everyone. We will spend the day with hands-on instruction and shooting in and around Newburyport from 9am to 5pm, lunch at 12:30 (lunch not included in fee). Workshop fee $95 per person, $45 required in advance to reserve your spot, balance due the day of the workshop.
You can see prints of Bill Lane's photos of boats, scenery and seascapes in person at the Brass Lyon in beautiful downtown Newburyport, Massachusetts. You will find framed prints of Bill's work and a line of custom greeting cards of New England scenes. The Brass Lyon is just a block from the Merrimac River in downtown Newburyport.
