I spent high school completely engrossed in singing. Choirs, plays, even some piano, I was sure that was going to be my life. I even started a music education degree at UNH. But it ended up not being where my heart was. When my son was born, I started taking copious photos of him and the more images I took, the more I saw images everywhere.
A friend asked me if I'd be interested in photographing his daughter's wedding. I told him I had never done that. He said 'yeah, but do you want to?' And did I ever! I photographed that first wedding and a new love was revealed. Now - over a decade later - I'm still so in love with making tangible memories.

I have yet to photograph a family who fits inside a nice neat little box. As your NH family photographer, I'll capture your personalities in a fun photography session that's all about you! It's not about being perfect. It's not about losing 10 more lbs or wearing matching clothes. It's about being your own person.
I've been caring for newborns since I was 3 1/2 and my brother was born. My mother used to wake up startled she'd slept in, only to find me in my brother's crib, with a bottle, his diaper changed and playing happily. I have patience and experience. Most clients call me the baby whisperer and ask if I can come back at 2 am.
My love of capturing those moments shines through in every single image I take. Plus, I'm ridiculously organized and super stealthy so those moments are not staged, they are true, natural and real. We just enjoyed our first 'mini-session' with Melissa. Picture three people, two who are mega-self-conscious (to say the least) and one nine-year-old who bounces every minute of the day, and imagine the wizard who makes time stand still.

I hired Melissa to take pictures of a surprise engagement to my now fiancé. Melissa was very helpful from the start and helped me select a location. Melissa also helped me with the logistics of our rendezvous.

There really aren't enough words to tell you how amazing Melissa Koren is! She was more helpful than our coordinator! She helped with every aspect of our day! We have been working with Melissa for over 10 years to capture our moments, whether that was our engagement or wedding, to our yearly tradition of family photos. Melissa somehow manages to capture the essence of our family and who we are individually. Getting our small children to smile, while capturing that smile is no easy endeavor. Melissa was great. She was easy to find online. She was responsive and cooperative. She was on time and ready to go. She worked easily with three generations and kept us all relaxed. She gives easy to follow directions without being bossy. The pictures were ready early and they were sharp and her choice of backgrounds added to the end product. We love the photos and will have wonderful memories for a long time.
