I've been with MyPoint for a little over 2 years but since Day 1, John Tanner has given me the greatest, easiest and most human experience I've ever gotten in customer service. I contact John whenever I'm in need of any needs financially and he's always been ready to help and give me full closure on any questions I have along with all my options. Outside of that he's always made every interaction with MyPoint seamless and I appreciate it because I'm still young and new to banking with credit unions and finances alone and he's helped mature me and what I know about

I have banked with (PLCU then) MyPoint since 1986. In these many years I have noticed customer service/tellers service has gone down considerably. The tellers in the bank could care less and online I get scripted replies to messages. I HATE the new look of their new website, it is not user friendly at all. Half the time I struggle to even login, like today for instance! Since I'm in deep with many accounts there I most likely won't change but hope any new clients with take a second look before becoming a member. Sad.

I loved PLCU, been in the auto industry for over 30 years. And I am sad to see another bank be bought out. But I guess it they lay if the land. Hope the new people running it are just as nice .

Great credit union. The staff here are friendly, professional and provide excellent customer service. Every time I go in here they treat me with respect and professionalism. The office is clean and tidy and always has a nice atmosphere about it.

I had an outstanding customer experience at 4s Ranch branch of the Point Loma Credit Union and was impressed by the collective effort of John, David, Cheyenne to make sure that I am delighted as a valued member. I was against a tight loan approval deadline and John took me without an appointment and managed to get my loan done the same day in parallel with back to back appointments on his calendar. The whole experience was customer focused every step of the way. David followed up by making sure that the check was received by the dealership and kept me informed every step of the day. Thank

Great credit union. Can't say enough good things about them. When I had brain surgery they sent me a get well card. When I referred a friend I got a sizable gift card to Phil's barbecue. They helped me get my credit back on track. Very friendly, helpful and professional.

While I have always been treated well as a customer in the branches there is no way to contact any of the branches via telephone. The 'phone system is designed in such a way that a person can never get through to speak to any representative. Keep this in mind if you contemplate using Point Loma Credit Union...

This place has the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. ASI uses this place, that's how I came across it. STAY AWAY if you have a choice. I didn't as I didn't have 9 grand for a new furnace and got railroaded into getting a loan from this dump.

PLCU has been doing my banking for almost 40 years. Multiple accts and business accts, too. Never a problem, always friendly and eager to please. I wouldn't change unless I moved away - maybe not even then!

This is the most convenient ATM to my house that doesn't charge fees for using it. I am an NFCU member and am super thankful that I don't have to drive all the way down the hill to RB through all the stupid stoplights to get to Navy Fed. Thank you baby Jesus!

I've been with them over 35 years. Service is 2nd to none. Never have they made a mistake. They greet me like I'm a friend. They carry all of my loans. Car. Home. Never would I bank anywhere else. Thanks so much PLCU. I'm a life time customer. So is my son. Our membership is generational.

Don't bank here. Unless you are a dinosaur and don't use an app to track your account, or if you don't care about customer service. We gave them a try for years and just never got better.

Very disappointed with this bank. I got a car loan from them in 2011, and I almost paid it off. I have been making double payments every month just to pay off the loan quicker and earn a good relationship with this bank. But when recently I came to them for personal loan, they just turned me away and ignored the fact that I have been loyal customer and never missed a payment even by a day. I did not expect this kind treatment. In couple of months I paying off the loan and never coming back to this bank. Do not get a house loan here. No one who bought a house from point Lima credit union qualifies for any government programs that might help someone save their home. They rather foreclose on a house than help them keep it. My interest is 6.25 percent. Current rates are around 4. Since I owe more than what my condo is worth, they will not let me refinance. Re-fi could help me save my condo. They tell me I am too big of risk to re-fi. Does that make sense? So, all other banks participate in government programs except credit unions. Stay away from them.

I've had problem after problem with this bank. Latest example, deposited $200.00 CASH, not a check, into the ATM (located at the branch by the way). This was done on the 15th to cover a bill that would automatically come out on the 19th. Well there still holding my cash on the 20th, 5 days later, so they covered the bill and charged me 31.00 "courtesy pay fee", while their holding my money that covers the bill. It's always blamed on a "third party processor". Am I the only one who thinks this is unacceptable.
The tellers are fine, this isn't about them. But

I am not a member of PLCU but another San Diego CU. And, boy, I'm so/very/extremely glad that PLCU is here.

Point Loma CU is the only CU in this area and it is a member of "co-op network" - which means their ATM saves me tons of money on frivolous charges like withdrawing my own money.
