Services
Owens & Associates Counseling & Therapy Center, LLC believes strongly in delivering individualized counseling services to each person we work with. Whether it's one-on-one, as part of a group or surrounded by your loved ones, you'll meet with a counselor who's attuned to your needs. Patients from throughout Algonquin, IL come to us because they know they'll be respected and understood in an environment that's safe and comfortable.
Steve is a very experienced License Clinical Professional Counselor. He received his master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Slippery Rock University in western Pennsylvania. He believes in developing therapeutic alliances with his clients and getting to the heart of the matter. Much of his experience was with children and adolescents in a school-based program providing individual, family, and group work.
Michelle has over 30 years of management and leadership experience in the healthcare industry including, homecare, hospice, in-patient/out-patient hospital, and private practice. She has expertise in the areas of leadership development, personnel selection and hiring, management communication and supervision & training.
With the powerful and magnificent array of environmental, cultural and social differences in our communities, we respect and understand that no two families are alike. This is why our therapists take the time to get to know each family's unique situation to best meet their needs. We focus on your strengths as a family system while helping you to resolve any familial conflict that may leave you feeling disconnected.
Group therapy is a phenomenal way to get the support you need while supporting others. We are proud to offer a variety of group therapy options for clients of ages! If you are looking for peer support, validation, and psychoeducation related to any of the following topics, then we have a group for you!

I've been going to Owens for a few months and I can honestly say I'm very happy with my results my son is 11 years old and going through some things and I am glad to say that Owens counseling has helped him a lot we are very happy with the service they also helped us with a great payment plan so we can afford those service

Would highly recommend to anyone looking for an amazing therapist! After trying out many therapists in the past for my 9 year old we finally found Craig. My son loves coming to see Craig and has made so much progress since starting here a couple months ago. Not only is Craig amazing, but the receptionist Tammy makes you feel so welcome every time and she is just the sweetest! It is such a relief to finally have found a place my son feels comfortable while working through things that may not be so comfortable.

There is something very unique about this group. They take the time to fit you with the right therapist. They may not tell you what you want to hear, but if you are willing to do the work, they will help you grow and improve. I am forever grateful for all the support through a most difficult year.

I have only heard great things about this place and it's employees. They have a clinician for all issues in people's lives that they possible could run in to. Dr. Owens and his associates are good at what they do. They have kind hearts, good ears for listening, and great mind for helping people with their issues and problems. I highly recommend their talents at one of their wonderful 4 locations.

I started seeing Dani at Owens and Associates. She was referred to me by a friend. I've been to counseling during hard times in my life and Owens and Associates is a great place to go if you are looking for a companionate and accommodating environment. Not only do I go there, but recently my child started going too.
I am so grateful to my counselor and for my son's. They are very helpful during this difficult time. Also, I have had a little bit of interaction with other counselors and they all are friendly.

They are a holistic practice, they provide impeccable support and use methods like DBT ( dialectal behavior therapy) that you dont realize are working until they do!
The support of everyone, from the front desk to the practice manager, and the individual therapists and interns, is just wonderful.
Do they always tell you what you want to hear? Of course not. No good, effective therapy practice would. They have the tools, and they are not afraid to use them.

Horrible! Stay away from them!
I have never dealt with a more unprofessional medical office. Called and ask them to invoice me after not receiving any invoice for over 5 months. Once I finally got the invoice in the mail it was incorrect. Called and they agreed the invoice was incorrect and said they would be sending me a corrected one. Never received a corrected one so I called back a month later. Said they would send a corrected invoice. Still never received a corrected invoice. Just received in the mail a letter from a collection company! No letter from Owen's notifying me of my past

I was very disappointed with my experience with Dr. Alan. He came across as extremely judgemental and after two sessions of very biased opinions I came out feeling that his advice actually made the overall relationship worse. I cannot undo the damaging effects his advice had but I hope no one else gets treated like that by any therapist. If you leave therapy angry and confused more than once, you are not seeing the right therapist.

I have never encountered a doctor's office that gave me so much grief about setting up a payment plan. The practice manager wasn't willing to work with me and after receiving payment from my insurance company she wasted no time in sending me a final letter for an outstanding account. DON'T GO HERE... ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY!!!!
