Kevin started hair school at age 18 and fell in love with coloring, cutting, and styling hair but found he excelled at and most loved blonding.
During his time as a student, he would attend competitive hair shows in California to hone his skills in the hair industry and won 1st place in most of the challenges. After graduating from school, he continued his studies and worked at The Paul Mitchell Salon in California. Kevin opened his first salon in Olympia, WA while still traveling back and forth to Paul Mitchell in CA for 10 years.

A chemist named Hans Schwarzkopf founded the company in 1898. He invented and marketed the first powder shampoo. Driven by his passion for hair and his vision for the industry he also founded a hairdressing academy in 1927. Hands down the BEST salon I have ever been too!! The owner's Greg & Kevin are truly amazing as well as knowledgable!! Their skills are unmatched! Greg has been doing my hair a little over 1 1/2 yrs now, he has completely revived it while taking me blonde. My hair has never felt this healthy or thick (it used to be extremely thin from being damaged). Every time I go to get my hair done it's like I'm hanging out with friends. Everyone in the salon is so friendly & welcoming. The decor & ambiance is wonderful, very relaxing. All of the women in my family come here to get

Great, talented people, friendly & joyful salon. Kevin and Greg & staff are high-end talent right here locally!! The Schwarzkopf color line is AMAZING as are the shampoo, conditioner products. Now that I have experienced the best @ Salon Nuveau, I’m never going anywhere else!!They are the hidden gem of Yelm/Olympia and so down to earth and kind hearted💜. Couldn’t be happier!

Yelp has delivered again! I was looking for a new hair stylist after using the same one for 6 years. I wanted someone who had expertise in blond highlights that stay blonde and fresh. My hair can sometimes get an orange tint to it when it is highlighted and I was tired of that happening and spending time to get it fixed. Not to mention, my hair was fried and frizzy.
I found this salon and booked a hair appt with Kevin. Kevin is super personable, listened to what I wanted, was realistic in what we could achieve, and told me it would take 2-3 times to get my hair to the place I wanted it.

Worst customer service ever. Kevin made my wife feel so horrible about her hair saying it was damaged. Which is not the case my wife uses Olaplex hair treatment due to her hair being damaged from previous salons. She has not touched her hair in over a year and religiously did her hair treatments. She was looking forward to her appointment that she booked 3 months ago. Instead of being professional and giving some tips as it is a hair salon. He just told her he wouldn't touch it and didn't give any alternative advice or options. Worst experience for her will never come back or recommend

I just moved to Washington and had to find a new hair stylist after going to the same one for over 25 years. I was really nervous about this but got lucky when I found Salon Nouveau. Karli was my stylist and she did an amazing job!! I love my haircut! She was so friendly and easy to talk to and really knew what she was doing. She spent extra time showing me different ways I can style my hair and just had lots of great ideas and tips. This will be my new forever salon. :)

I had been wanting to try Salon Nouveau for quite awhile but I have a hard time changing stylists. I made an appointment with Karli and I was not disappointed. She was personable and kept the conversation light and fun. She enlisted the help of Kevin and Gregory to help us decide on the right color for my hair and they nailed it. The cut and color were perfect and my hair even feels healthier. This is definitely a salon I will go back to.

Got in the dame day I called for a cut. I asked for the best and was given Jade. She was so so so professional and sweet. She really listened to what I wanted. She didn't push products which I love that and she rocked my hair. This place is a must. It's like walking into a New York Salon only in yelm.

A little late writing my review, but better late than never. I came in, and arrived on time, with a same day appointment to see Paige. The previous customer ended up taking an hour and a half longer passed her appointment, but the staff was all very courteous and apologetic. I get it, things sneak up on ya. Paige was very friendly, warm and personable. She did my hair exactly to the specifics I asked and even ran next door to grab me a snack while I was processing. Clean salon, warm faces and competitive prices. I will be back for sure.

I went to see Jade and she did an amazing job (better than my old hair stylist I'd had for about 10 years).
And the prices were really reasonable.
A great bonus was the products they use to wash and style your hair are great quality. I have very sensitive skin and used to have to wash my hair shortly after my appts. with my old stylist because my head would itch, but my scalp was not irritated at all after this appt. I highly recommend this salon and Jade!
