Today's healthcare consumer demands a better approach that the current long-term care system can offer. Often those qualified for a Medicare short-stay choose to return to home prematurely, due to the undesirable alternative offered by the long-term care system. Transitional care is an optimal setting for patients that require a regimen of skilled therapy or nursing care following an acute hospital stay.

Our highly-qualified therapists and nurses are skilled and experienced in working with adults of all ages who have a variety of orthopaedic, cardiac, and neurological conditions.
Services
Old Cheney Rehabilitation provides post-acute care in a distinct environment. Today's healthcare consumers demand care delivery beyond the current long-term care approach. In fact, the majority of those qualified for a Medicare short-stay choose to go home despite safety concerns, due to the undesirable alternatives.
At Old Cheney, we provide rehabilitative services and skilled nursing care for people who require a regimen of therapy following a recent hospital stay. Our services are for those who no longer need to be in a hospital but are not quite ready or able to go home. Rehabilitation - Including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy & Speech Therapy Services - all are available seven days a week.
Old Cheney Rehabilitation provides comprehensive physical, occupational, respiratory and speech therapy services. Our goal is to help each patient get back to living an independent life. Rehabilitation Services are offered 7 days a week, up to 3 times a day as tolerated. Frequently after a stroke, patients may suffer from speech, language, swallowing and related disorders.
The EMT's on the 911 crew that responded to my wife's call were very efficient and took me to the hospital where the Dr. operated and placed a prosthetic ball in place of the one I had broken off during my fall. I was impressed with all the people who saw to my care at our facility. Your nurses were very attentive to all my needs and the cooks proved some of the very best meals anybody could ask for.

My 88 year old father was placed here following a pace maker installation. The surgery center disclosed that he has dementia and general short term memory problems. They are simply NOT equipped to deal with this type of patient, and should have turned him away to a skilled nursing facility. There are no bed alarms, and the first night he fell face down in the bathroom, and lay there for who knows how long before being discovered by staff. My sister ended up essentially moving in and sleeping in a recliner in the room so that she could alert staff when he needed help getting to the bathroom. He

We are very glad Old Cheney Rehabilitation's name was on the list of options when we were choosing a facility from the hospital. Old Cheney Rehab is far better than any other facility I have been in. It's difficult to acknowledge one person in particular; ALL the staff members went above and beyond to help me and be accommodating. Every one was helpful! My husband and I felt like were at home each day during my stay. I never had to worry about asking for help from anyone as all staff members were willing to help! I was so impressed with how large the facility is, the rooms and bathrooms are a comfortable

Horrible, horrible. horrible experience! My grandmother was admitted and sadly passed away. My family was not contacted by the facility when she was transferred to the hospital. According to the hospital, they had a difficult time getting a hold of anyone at the facility to collect additional information. The hospital said she arrived highly dehydrated along with large bed sores. I talked with the nursing director about my concerns, and she was going to look into her chart and get back with me. She never did. I called and talked with the Administrator, and by the way she was responding, she had

My wife is here now. I’d go 5 stars for staff. Friendly and caring. 5 stars for the really nice interiors. 5 stars for rehab programs with PT twice a day and OT once a day. 1 star for food. It’s all frozen or canned. A pair of 10 year olds with scissors, a can opener and a microwave could manage this. When you think about the hundreds of dollars per night for the rooms and the 2 or 3 dollars being spent on food it’s petty. It’s also against the patients interests. Fresh prepared food can’t be that expensive to do...Vegetables, fruits, meats and grain bread are going to help patients recover

My brother was recently staying with Old Cheney Rehab. We had a pleasant experience all around. He was receiving mostly PT and OT and I cannot say enough how great the therapy department is! Nursing staff was excellent. I had a wonderful time getting to know some of the aides that were helping my brother. I was impressed that situations were handled quickly and with care whenever we had concerns. The only reason I gave a 4 star review was due to the night shift. I feel that they are disorganized with their communication. We had a rough start in the beginning but we worked through it. The food was

I am a home health nurse and I work for a company that often admits patients who are being discharged from Old Cheney Rehab to continue skilled cares at home. The patients have nothing but positive things to say about their time spent at OCR. They all comment on how beautiful the rooms are and how helpful and friendly the staff is! If you are looking for rehab in Lincoln for yourself or your family, I would highly recommend Old Cheney Rehabilitation!

Yes the staff and nursing and rehab therapist are friendly and listen to you. I can say without a doubt your care is important to them. Honestly on another note I found that the food is not kept at proper heating or cold temperatures when served. Food is always the same served everyday. Lettuce is wilted and brown. The facility has a lot of work needed in how food is prepared, and proper serving different variety meals instead of repeating the same meals everyday.

The services offered by Old Cheney Rehab are beyond fantastic! Therapy 3 times per day 7 days a week will get you here to home faster than you can imagine. Small meals are offered throughout the day to keep you going. You will want to stay longer, but before you know it you'll be on your way.
