Is the agency certified by Medicare? Only Medicare-certified agencies can provide services covered by Medicare. Not all agencies participate in the Medicare program; however, not participating does not mean the agency provides less than quality care. Is the agency licensed by the state? In Kansas, a home care agency must be licensed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment in order to provide medical care in the home.

To act in a manner that will instill confidence, trust and respect in clients, employees, professional peers, organizations, general public and the health care delivery system.
The business of home care and hospice can be challenging. Not only do you need to watch quality, billing, coding, and staffing, but you need to stay current on employment and business issues. The Kansas Home Care & Hospice Association can help you with these issues as well as the overwhelming amount of changes in rules and regulations that affect your reimbursement and costs.
Associate Members are official, regulatory, voluntary, and/or private organizations interested in the work of the Association, but do not provide direct patient services in the home.
