Home Care Partners - We're a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping seniors in our community age in place and making their homes safer so they can remain independent at home. Our social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, schedulers and certified aides are skilled in providing in-home care for seniors and adults with disabilities who need help managing their daily routines.

Thank you for the many pieces of wonderful and safe equipment that Safe at Home gave us. Your program was OUR LAST RESORT before putting mom in a nursing facility where she did not want to go. Mom delights in the equipment, especially the chair lift and recliner---she is still intrigued by the remote control.
Services
Home Care Partners is a private non-profit agency serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Our mission is to enable vulnerable people to remain in their own homes in comfort, safety, and dignity. We are committed to excellence; we embrace diversity; and we serve those in need with priority given to those unable to pay the full cost of care.
Home care aides assist with tasks that help clients manage their daily routines. Based on a personalized plan of care, our aides are assigned to help with such duties as personal care-- bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, or toileting; medication reminders; range of motion exercises; preparing and serving nutritious meals; light house cleaning, laundry; shopping and errands; escort to appointments; and companionship and supervision.
Marla Lahat, MSW, LICSW, is the Executive Director of Home Care Partners. Prior to becoming Executive Director in 1999, Marla developed and managed the Alzheimer's home care programs at Home Care Partners since 1986. She has published articles and presented seminars on working with clients with Alzheimer's disease, caregiving and other home care topics.
Home Care Partners hires certified home health aides and in Maryland and Virginia, certified nurse assistants. We also employ social work and nurse case managers, schedulers, and administrative staff. Arnetta came to Home Care Partners, entered a training class that was just starting and was hired after she got her certification.
Making a difference was what motivated Stacie Short to enroll in Home Care Partners Training Institute to earn her certification as a home care aide. Stacie's son was in a terrible accident which left him a paraplegic. After living through the difficulties of arranging appropriate care for him, Stacie wanted to be able to help others who really needed care.

Things went wrong from the beginning. They don’t follow up
With clients and act surprised when you become upset. My grandfather was told someone would
Start two weeks ago she never showed and we
Never received a call saying why or someone else would be sent in her place. I’ve had to call them several times at this point we are looking for a different agency.

The care provided to my mother by the aid was exceptional! Lillian was caring, professional and always put my mother's need first. This agency provided schedules that accommodated the family need.
