Services
For thousands of years the land which eventually became the town of Delta was inhabited by many Native American tribes. In 1744, the area was purchased by Alexander McCandless from the heirs of William Penn. The first settlers were Scots-Irish, who built their dwellings throughout the area. Main Street, which runs between the ridge of slate and Scott's Creek, was laid out in 1840.

Our family wants to thank the staff at Harkins for their dedication and attention to every detail. We lost our mother on April 3, 2021. There are not enough words to express how wonderful Jeff Lovelidge has been through the process of laying my father to rest. His kind words throughout this difficult time have been most comforting. Jeff made himself available to us at all times and was able to communicate in a timely fashion whether it be by email, phone call, or text message. Jeff took the time to take care of all of the funeral arrangements which helped ease the burden of our grieving family. Patti was so compassionate and understanding , she worked hard to make this as easy for us as possible, They also provided services for our mother in 2006.
She was always there to answer any questions or concerns we had and help us through this very hard time.
Patti began our visit to plan his services with a prayer and ended the grave site services with the Lord Prayer.
We recommend Harkins services for anyone to honor their love ones, they do a great job with everything.

I do not recommend Harkins Funeral Home for funeral needs. I recently used Harking Funeral home when my infant granddaughter passed away. A couple of days after the funeral, I went back to Harkins Funeral Home to retrieve the Death Certificate and a locket containing hair cuttings from my granddaughter. The Funeral Director, the same Director that managed our viewing and burial, acted like she didn’t know us or the name of our deceased granddaughter. When we became persistent, she confessed that she gave the Death Certificate and locket to another family member, a friend of the Director. This

I would not recommend this funeral home to anyone! The way my family was treated after the burial of my infant great niece was disrespectful & very upsetting! When my niece the mother of the baby went to pick up the death certificates & locket of hair Patti the director acted like she didn’t know who she was! The reason Patti “the director” pretended not to know her is because she had given them to another person (her friend) an hour before! Under no circumstances should anyone other then the parents been given these items!!

They were easy to deal with, very understanding. Jeffery was so helpful.. once my father met him ,it was an easy decision on where we wanted to have my sister’s service. She passed the week of Christmas , so it was hard to find florists that were open and so on. He pointed us in the right direction and made it all a little easier on a week that would have otherwise been even harder because of the holidays.
We went to Lasahn and also Evan’s, but neither were as personable or kind. It was all just business to them. Harkins is different, in the best way possible for this difficult of a situation
