Director Susanna Meldrum is a seasoned professional, with over 28 years of experience in early childhood education and leadership.
She founded Maple Bear Academy in 1984 in Ontario, Canada when her own daughter was in need of quality early childhood education. Her vision has since grown and the day care relocated to sunny Los Angeles, California. Curriculum is founded on an international twist of Canadian, American, and European culture and educational principles, opening children's eyes early on about the world and humanity.

Services
Maple Bear Academy is simply the best place for your child to begin their early education, conveniently located 2 miles from Cedars Sinai Medical Center. We exclusively care for a maximum of 14 children on any given day, with a maximum of 4 infants (20 months old and younger). Our experienced director Susanna Meldrum along with two full time childcare providers and one assistant are involved with the children at all times.
Occasionally we will bring in special guests and/or activities. There are no additional costs for this, however the child may need certain additional items in order to participate (such as a bathing suit, water shoes, pajamas, teddy bear, etc.) Parents will be notified when these additional items are required and when special events are taking place.
Maple Bear Academy only accepts full time registrations and payments are due every Thursday 52 weeks per year regardless of the child's actual attendance. Space is held on reserve for a child by a two week non refundable security deposit that is applied to the child's last two weeks in attendance (regardless of fee increases by the time the child graduates/moves on).
Maple Bear Academy enthusiastically endorses the importance of early childhood nutrition. Whether or not a child is well nourished during the first years of life has a profound impact on their health. Nutrition affects their ability to learn, communicate, think, socialize, and adapt to new people and environments.
