Peter Suchy provided unacceptable options for a diamond center stone. Below are reviews from Rare Carat of two diamonds Peter recommended - one of which had a hole on the surface.
The prices Peter quoted me for these stones were $7,500 for the 1.28 E SI1, and $11,500 for the 1.10 D VS2 -- not including the setting. The total cost for each diamond in a platinum setting would have been $9,000 for the E and $12,500 for the D.

Peter Suchy presented me with two unacceptable options for a round brilliant center stone. I submitted the GIA information to Rare Carat and they warned me against buying the diamonds, one of which had a hole in it. See the write ups from Rare Carat below. Very disappointing experience, especially since Peter is "friends" with my mother-in-law's husband. I wouldn't be surprised if my mother-in-law's diamond is seriously flawed. After this terrible experience, my husband bought me a larger, higher quality diamond engagement ring and band from Graff.

They have a beautiful selection but many of the items are very overpriced. Like I have seen similar items at other jewelry stores in New York for not even 1/2 price of what they are charging. I am sure if you are willing to splurge on the right piece then they probably have something but as an avid collector of antique jewelry I find it quite inflated, so you probably wouldn't have a good return on investment.

I will only go to Peter Suchy's as my jeweler! I got my antique engagement ring and wedding band here in 2014. I just came back from Peter Such Jewelers and knew what had to be done. I've been meaning to do this review for few years and here I go. I've been going to these Great people for a few years now and have always been treated professionally and the work done on my watches has been never less the 5 stars. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! This place is over crowded with old lady jewelry and smells like it to. Not organized what so ever and dirty! The staff is incredibly rude! I brought some jewelry to get prices on because I wanted to sell it. I saw the same exact ring was for sale on his page for $950. I was hoping to get at least $100. I live 40 minutes away from Peter Suchy, but I wouldn't go to any other jeweler. As far as I am concerned, this is the most trustworthy shop around. Peter and team always do everything with care. Peter is amazing! I looked all over for the perfect estate engagement ring and Peter took the time to show us loose estate diamonds and original estate settings and we created " my perfect ring" .
