I had gotten a few facials with Isabelle many years ago and always thought that she is the best esthetician I'd ever known. Recently I found her again and have had a couple of facials. She's simply the most thorough and the entire process feels like a mini vacation.

Wonderful! I feel so confident in Isabelle's hands and so enjoy her professionalism when doing a wax! And she's a delightful person!

Isabelle is the best, seriously, she is really amazing. I have been going to her for years. Finally getting around to giving her a much deserved 5 star rating. Call well in advance if you want to get an appointment with her.

Without knowing anything about her services, I started seeing Isabelle 3 years ago because she carries Yonka, a line of high-quality products, which work well on my skin. To my delight, she offers so much more! Working alone in a cozy studio, she gives her full and complete attention to each client. Isabelle is meticulous in her work, offering an honest assessment of my skin, but always supportive in suggesting ways to improve its condition. She never pushes any service or product; in fact, if there's a product that works just as well but is less expensive, she'll always mention it. Additionally

I have gotten facials at nail salons, spas, and other clinics. Last week was my first time at Isabelle's and I was so impressed! She is professional, thorough, soothing, honest, graceful, friendly. She is upfront, telling you what to expect, and does not try to oversell you. I learned so much about my skin and she gave me a few suggestions on what to improve on. Not lecturing me or pushing me into any type of belief or product. Can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my visit! Highly recommend her!

Everything about Isabelle and her studio is outstanding. When I called to make an appointment she was busy with another client so I left a voicemail. She got back to me soon after and she was very accommodate, she gave me an appointment for the following day, early morning, since I had a trip coming up and I was desperate. Her studio is very welcoming, and extremely clean. She took time to make sure I was 100% happy with the wax service she provided and she even gave me some advice on my skin type and products I should be using. I've been having skin care for 35 years. For a long time with Georgina Acosta, then Maggi ,when she left I wasn't too hopeful about finding someone else. Now I've found Isabelle and she is efficient, and charming, and doesn't over treat and/or recommend unnecessary visits. She also has some lovely products, and many are recommended by my dermatologist.

This tiny studio is lovely and definitely fits her personality.

Professional and comforting, Isabelle has spent her career in the science of chemistry as it touches the skin.
She's quite the alchemist, though she would tell you that she believes in science not its esoteric meanings.
She's terrific at her craft, bar none.

Waxing is NOT fun. I am sure you are all aware. However, Isabelle makes it as comfortable as it can be. She is a solid professional with a keen eye and swift hand. She is so great at getting back to you with what she has open and will try to fit you in as best she can on an emergency basis. I have not had one of her facials, but a friend of mine has and says I am seriously missing out.
You would be silly to miss this spot, it is a little tough to fine the first time. Just face Starbucks, go to your right and then on your right hand side are some stairs. Go to the top. You will not be sorry!

This review is long overdue. As in, over a year in a half overdue. Yikes!

Anyways, after moving to Oakland and my esthetician retiring, I was in need of a new one. I found Isabelle on Yelp, of course. She mainly takes appointments for facials during the week, which is a bummer, but I completely understand. I was able to get an afternoon appointment with her. She was fantastic. She really took the time to care for my skin. She asked me a lot of questions, gave me a lot of information, telling me what each product will do for my skin.

Unfortunately, this was the last time I have done any facials

I have been a client of Isabelle Girard's for about 20 years. Her salon is spotless. isabelle is efficient, cheerful, informative and a delight. Her skin products are excellent and reasonable in price.

I highly recommend Isabelle for any and all your skin care needs.

I have searched high and low, yelp and not on yelp, location wise very far to close-by, and am so grateful to have met Isabelle. She knows skin, she is very honest and direct, and her space is clean and professional. There is no awkwardness because she clears the air verbally and is very present throughout the session.

Eyebrow waxing review.
I went to Isabelle because she had such great reviews on Yelp. I'll keep it simple ...
She got wax in my hair, which she CUT out before I even realized what she was doing!
She used eyebrow powder on my eyebrows after the wax, to fill-in the holes ... I looked like I had two caterpillars above my eyes when I left!
She did 'clean up' around my brows, but her preference was to let my eyebrows grow thick ... hmmmmm, I get my eyebrows waxed so they don't look like caterpillars!
And, she was pretty awkward ... not warm and friendly like other Estheticians

Isabelle is fantastic. She is, in the words of my sister, "genius with wax". I get compliments all the time on my eyebrows. Her facials are great. (And I won't dread any part of them now that she's told me I don't need extractions).

She doesn't push the expensive products that she carries; instead, she'll tell you if she doesn't think you need that for which you are asking. You can count on the timing that she tells you (both start and stop times). I can't recommend her more highly.
