Services
People often seek counseling or psychotherapy to change and to resolve difficulties or problems. Seeking consultation is very personal and it takes some courage to initiate contact. Sometimes the impetus comes from within; sometimes your circumstances or others close to you provide a nudge. Finding the 'right' therapist for you may take some exploration.
A mutual commitment between client and therapist occurs when arranging a consultation. Appointments can be scheduled as Dr Zuessman's hours become available. A session is approximately 50 minutes. However, couples and families may be seen in longer sessions. Only the scheduled time is available for your appointment, so please be sure to attend punctually.
Some clients seek partial reimbursement of professional fees via health insurance, a health plan or a third party payer. Each health plan will have its own definition of what professional services are covered. Each plan will also have a schedule of reimbursement for professional services. And, each plan will have its own procedures and paperwork for filing claims.
Clinical assessment is usually part of an initial interview and typically includes completion of a personal questionnaire, enquiry into one's history, and review of mental state. However, particular assessment techniques, including personality inventories, can be used to focus on understanding areas of functioning, diagnosis, or to assist in answering specific referral questions.
