It's California Law: You have direct access to a physical therapist.
Services
Founded in San Jose in 2011, Vortex Physical Therapy and Balance has built a strong reputation in the community for our knowledge and treatment of dizziness and balance issues. Diron Cassidy, PT, MPT, established Vortex as the first physical therapy facility in the Bay Area dedicated to the rehabilitation of vestibular and balance disorders.
Vortex has greatly improved the quality of my life, and now I have a solution whenever my benign positional vertigo flares up. I've had BPPV off and on for over 30 years. Like many, I tried going to different doctors, had many tests done, and tried various treatments. However, it was not until I made an appointment w/ Diron that I finally found someone who really knows how to fix vertigo problems.
My time spent with my therapist was very much worth it. She is a very competent therapist and is obviously well-trained. She was able to discuss the issues with me and to teach me the proper mind and body actions to improve my balance. I feel much more confident. Your balance is based on how three sensory inputs (vestibular, proprioception, and vision) convey information about the environment to your brain.
This was the place and treatment I needed just when I needed it. The treatment I had for my vertigo was far better/more successful than previous treatment in another location. At Vortex Physical Therapy and Balance, our physical therapists are highly skilled in treating Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV).
My therapist was very good at explaining the "whys" and how to handle symptoms of my concussion. I have seen improvement with her expertise. Following a concussion, you may experience lingering symptoms of dizziness, headaches, vertigo, or imbalance. If these symptoms persist and are preventing you from participating in your regular daily activities, ask your medical provider to refer you to a trained vestibular therapist.

This is a wonderful place! Cara in the front office is so professional, kind, and accommodating in scheduling appointments and the physical therapists are amazing! They treat everyone with such care and kindness and their therapy is the best! It's no wonder that Vortex comes so highly recommended by local hospitals and physician offices. 5 Stars!

I was diagnosed with BPPV by my primary physician. After struggling with it for a week, trying some exercises off the internet, I decided to get help. Contacting Vortex after reading the reviews on yelp was an easy decision.
My positive impression begins with the call to Cara. She is very informative, friendly and efficient. She managed to get me in following a cancellation the very next day.
My examination was with Diron. In less than hour he had diagnosed the cause and fixed it. Luckily, the first session took care of the problem. It has been 3 days now, and I feel like I am back to normal

This facility...all I can say is I'm so glad I found them!
I've BPPV and have been in a bad state for a few months, when I walked through the doors.
Back up...front office manager, Cara, was so empathetic and reassuring on the phone I cried, just knowing someone understood what I was going through.
My first apt was with Brittney, who was wonderful. I returned 2 days later and had Diron, the owner. Talk about dedication, knowledge and empathy - this man has it all!! Five visits and I'm/he's! getting my BPPV under control.
I would highly recommend this one-of-a-kind BPPV

Today, on rather short notice I was able to get in for a thorough evaluation and treatment at Vortex . Because of the Covid-19 shelter in place order, appointments were limited to just emergency vertigo cases. From beginning to end my experience with Office Manager Cara and therapist Amanda was relaxing, informative and professional .The assessment and exercise routine lasted 90 minutes which was more thorough than expected. The diagnosis ( inner ear neuritis ) relieved my anxiety and explained my symptoms of ongoing dizziness and imbalance for 11 days . This team really care about their patients

My BPPV, mostly no big deal, suddenly became very bad, very quickly, leaving me debilitated with vertigo, nausea and vomiting. Cara got me in ASAP although this was challenging due to being over Xmas/New Year.
Amanda did tests to see which ear canals were causing this and in just two visits fixed my problem. I was very impressed at how knowledgeable she was and how well she explained everything. After having this for 40 years I know a lot more about it.
If your BPPV suddenly goes out of control then head right over to Vortex and they will take care of you.

I took my mother to Vortex for more than 10 sessions with Jo. She is great. My mom has had very slight improvement. What I don't like about this place which made me give this review is the cancellation policy!!! I called at 3:15 pm Monday to cancel 2 appointments for the week due to an emergency that I had to go out of town with my mother. The front desk person, Cara, said my mom has to pay $50 because it is less than 24 hours cancelation (Tuesday 11:30 & Friday 9:30) and that she has signed the paperwork to pay it! I told her that it is less than 4 hours after 24 hours and I do not appreciate

I could not have found a more fitting place to treat my Vertigo ( BPPV). I had been dealing with balance/dizzy/motion issues for quite some time now after my primary physician told me to wait it out and it will go away naturally. It never went away "naturally" ......... From the minute I called and scheduled with Cara to the time I walked in and was treated by Brittany it has been 100% positive! Brittany was understanding, spent the time explaining everything that she was going to do, along with what to expect. The following day after treatment I still felt woozy and I called the office

I was experiencing dizziness and Cara got me scheduled immediately. I was still dizzy after the treatment and Diron came out to the car and helped me back into the office where he worked on my vertigo again.
They loaned me a walker so I would not fall at home and stayed with me until my Lyft ride came. I went back for a follow up evaluation and the vertigo was gone. Diron does amazing work.

How lucky I was to find VORTEX physical therapy!
After having replacement surgery on both hips plus my age (72 years old) I've noticed that I'm getting dizzy, unbalanced and uncertain while walking and doing daily shores. Family doctor advised me to get help from physical therapists. Cara at Vortex scheduled vestibular therapist Rupali to work with me.
Rupali managed to make me a new person after only 8 sessions!
I've learned so much about my body and what I did wrong and how to correct it. I feel myself more stabled now and certain that I can walk again without being afraid to lose

Simply put... these guys saved me. I was diagnosed with a severe Vestibular Neuritis and no medication could stop the 24/7 dizziness and lack of balance. Cara got me scheduled right away and always accommodated my needs - a pleasure to deal with.
I had to take a medical leave and was getting a bit desperate. But Diron created a set of VRT exercises that overtime began to work! Yes, you MUST stick to the exercises and do them every single day. Believe me, it works! My brain is now fully compensated thanks to Diron and Vortex.
There are no words to express my gratitude to Diron and Cara...

I have been suffering from vertigo for over three weeks. I am so grateful to have found Vortex PT on yelp. Cara, at the front desk was able to coordinate and get me in as soon as possible. After one visit with Rupali, she was able to assess and treat my condition. Beyond thankful that I now know where to go if it ever happens again.

In the middle of the scariest moments of my life, I came across this listing for Vortex. What a huge relief! Cara was so calm and reassuring. She was able to squeeze me in for an appointment the same day. And Diron knew exactly how to assess and treat the BPPV had me feeling as if I was tumbling in a giant washing machine when I woke up that morning. They were very effective at communicating what was happening, which helped me stay calm. I'm home, returning to feeling 100% normal again, and extremely grateful that these experts are in the area.

I suffered BPPV vertigo for a month. My ENT misdiagnosed me on the wrong ear and also wrong canal. So basically I wasted a month doing a wrong maneuver. Then I went to Vortex for a second opinion. I was told the crystal is in the different side and also on different canal. After one treatment, my vertigo is gone. I am back to normal.

Thanks Vortex and Rupali (the PT that fixed me).

Vortex guys are really good at what they do. If you get vertigos (spinning sensation) when moving your head around (also known as BPPV), come and see these guys. Everyone in the office is extremely friendly and understanding and after 15-20 min of specific movement tests, they figure out which inner ear channel has a problem and fix it for you, usually in just one treatment. Could not be happier with the service and accommodating appointment on a very short notice. Thanks Vortex!

Two weeks ago when I laid down on the bed or turn my body to the left side, the room was spinning. I was worried and my mood started to swing, "how can I get rid of this dizziness?." One week later, after some research on yelp, I found this clinic, Vortex Physical Therapy & Balance.
Immediately, I made an appointment with Cara over the phone. Cara works in the front desk and she is so great and very friendly. Physical Therapist, Diron, is very patient to explain why it caused dizziness. It's called Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) and a very common problem. After

My experience with Vortex has been extremely positive. I recently completed vestibular and balance therapy. When I began, I had no idea how compromised my balance was. My physical therapist was so patient, guiding me through each phase, making sure I did every exercise correctly. The nausea is gone. I now have the energy to work on my "core" to further strengthen my balance.
Vortex provided me with better understanding and management of my condition, as well as thoughtful ways for me to continue on my own after completion of my therapy.

I can't thank them enough for the patience and empathy they have shown him as he continues to overcome the balance issues no one else has been able to help for years!!
