Dr. Elisabeth Potter, MD
As a plastic surgeon specializing in breast reconstruction, my job isn't to convince every woman I see to have plastic surgery, but it is my goal to educate and offer the best reconstructive techniques available. And if breast reconstruction is part of her journey to feeling whole again, then it's my privilege to be part of it.

With fellowship training in microsurgery from MD Anderson Cancer Center, and having performed well over 900 DIEP flap procedures during her career, Dr. Potter's specialty is DIEP flap reconstruction. She also provides her patients with other options including implant-based reconstruction, partial reconstruction, and/or fat grafting.
Services
After a breast cancer diagnosis, it's important to take the time needed to assemble your treatment team and consider your reconstructive options. Early treatment decisions may affect your reconstruction results down the road. Your plastic surgeon can educate you about your choices so that you make the most informed decisions possible.
DIEP flap surgery is the best surgery available for breast cancer and breast reconstruction. Most women have a little extra tissue, usually in the lower abdomen, which is ideal for use in breast reconstruction. DIEP flap reconstruction is an advanced surgical technique that takes this skin and fat (as opposed to the muscle) from the abdomen and transplants it to the chest, using a technique called microsurgery.
Implant based reconstruction is the most popular type of breast reconstruction in the United States. For many women considering their options for breast reconstruction, implant based reconstruction can be an excellent choice. When it comes to selecting the right implant, there are two primary options: saline filled and silicone gel filled.
Advanced microsurgical techniques make it possible to restore the natural shape and feel of a woman's breast by transplanting her own living tissue from another part of her body. This procedure has lifelong results and is referred to as a perforator flap reconstruction, also known as free flap reconstruction.
Commonly performed for cosmetic reasons, fat grafting is another powerful and natural method of breast reconstruction. During fat grafting, liposuction is performed to harvest fat from one area of the body. The fat is then prepared and carefully injected into the breast.

For breast reconstruction, fat grafting is most commonly utilized as a complementary procedure for women who have undergone either implant or flap reconstruction and wish to correct mild deformities. However, fat grafting alone can correct deformities resulting from lumpectomy and radiation. Dr. Potter uses high-end cosmetic surgery techniques when performing fat grafting.

I had 2 separate consulatations with Dr. Potter. I do not feel you should meet a doctor for the first time in a gown. She spent very little time with me explaining the procedure. She may be a great surgeon but I did not feel the connection. I ended up going elsewhere for my reconstruction.

Where do I even begin. Dr. Potter and her team are amazing. During my chemo treatments I met a lot of doctors who became numb to their job, but Dr. Potter and her staff have not. They welcomed me with open arms. She & her team genuinely listened to me as I was talking and consoled me when I busted into tears each visit. They treat their patients like they are their mother, sister, friend and/or daughter.
I had my bilateral mastectomy on 7/4/21 and she made sure to discuss every option that I had beforehand. I met with her several times in the office and by Telemedicine. She took her time to make

I highly recommend Dr Potter and her staff. This was a big step for me and they were all so comforting and reassuring , not to mention their kindness. Dr Potter gave me the confidence I needed to go through with my procedure and did an amazing job. Very professional and their office and rooms are spotless. Always on time for every appointment. I appreciate them all.

DENIED HELP.
Dr. Potter is in my network and I was quite eager to have a consultation with her for medically necessary surgery. However, I was denied an appointment due to being unvaccinated. I am recently COVID recovered with natural immunity and proof of antibodies. Any doctor that simply refuses to recognize the significance of this status is close minded and unethical. Of all people, a doctor should follow THIS science also!

I had such a positive experience with Dr. Potter and her team! I went to Dr. Potter for an implant exchange (after 22 years, one of mine had deflated, and I was in need of a touch up.) They look SO GOOD! Dr. Potter and her team walked me through the process, there was no pressure or upsell at any point, and I felt supported throughout the entire process. Surgery went smoothly, the team was available for questions and check-ins post ops, and I would go back to her again in a heartbeat (though hopefully not for another 22 years!)

Moved recently and was petrified about finding a new esthetician...I did not want to end up with fish lips or be in any way unnatural looking....just need freshening up! Alissa and her wonderful team are amazing with suggestions for new treatments as well as execution. Professional clean atmosphere, great products and wonderful follow up care. Not super difficult to adjust appointment times when life gets crazy. Location convenient from my abode in the nether region of Lakeway.

Dr. Potter is amazing. She fixed a botched reconstruction and I couldn’t be happier. She listened. She communicated exactly what she wanted to do and why. She filled me with confidence and then she delivered better than expected. Follow up care after surgery was great, her team scheduled my first post surgery visit prior to the surgery. For the first time since my cancer diagnosis 7 years ago I am looking forward to wearing a swimsuit this summer because I won’t have to add a sports bra under and a shirt over, to help conceal my unnatural shape.

So her work for my bilateral mastectomy and the reconstruction was great. BUT the time she spent actually speaking to me and answering questions probably doesn't even total an hour. That includes surgery days. Also my after care after my implant reconstruction was horrible. I kept contacting the office about pain and that one of my implants looked funny. (Mind you I did everything exactly how they said) they finally took me into the office after a couple weeks of pain and complaining. I get seen and I'm told it's my skin still tight and that my implant is definitely not flipped. A couple more weeks

Where do I start! I found Dr Potter on line after starting my reconstruction at MD Anderson. My reconstruction had not gone as planned, so when I found Dr Potter I made an appointment, and I absolutely loved her! She’s so honest, kind, caring, direct, kind, and so, so compassionate! Heidi, Sarah, Whitney, Elaine with these ladies you have the absolute A team! My DIEP flap did not go as planned due to my heart, but Dr Potter gave me 110% and she’ll do my next flap whatever that may be. Dr Potter and her team are absolute gems!

I am blessed to have Dr. Potter for my micro surgeon, and her team as my advocates and care providers. Her entire staff is compassionate, efficient and knowledgeable. Dr. Potter completed my DIEP reconstruction. She is an artist with the body, so efficient that every step was planned and checked for success beforehand. Her standards and expectations of anyone I came into contact with, including the hospital staff, were very high.

Dr. Potter is so encouraging, so positive and so experienced that I knew immediately I was in very good hands. Plus she is board certified, and she and her entire staff are caring and kind and so professional and impressive in all ways. When I became very nervous about the increasing coronavirus spread in Austin, Dr. Potter and her co-surgeon Dr. Sprunt jumped through all the hoops (including a change of hospitals) to move my cancer surgery up a week so that I could have the procedure and be out of the hospital quickly to recover and "shelter in place" at home. My recovery has been

Dr. Elisabeth Potter and her staff are absolutely awesome. I love her and her entire staff. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. Dr. Potter did the reconstruction on the right breast following mastectomy. Amazing job!! In late 2019, I was diagnosed with cancer in the left breast. This diagnosis came in the middle of my husband’s treatment… for lung cancer, (chemo, radiation & surgery). I could not see a clear path to deal with both of us having cancer at the same time. But….somehow Dr. Potter and my surgeon fast-tracked me so that my surgery was scheduled before my

I read so many great reviews about Dr. Potter so I went in for a breast augmentation consultation and had such a wonderful experience from her entire staff. She was definitely someone i felt safe with, which was my biggest concern. I decided to get my augmentation done in December and could not be happier with my decision! Dr. Potter made my girls look good, but still so natural and proportionate to my frame. I feel much more confident now and highly recommend her to anyone!

Dr Potter and Dr Yi are an amazing team of kind and confident professionals. They both greeted me with grace and confidence, so I was able to relax knowing they were the team working on me. Everyone, starting with reception, was gracious. After the surgery, each doctor came to see me with smiles and was so positive about the success of the… surgery, it dismissed all my fears of possible failure. They knew I had come into the process with fear due to my personal situation. I appreciate their care and all they did and are still doing for me in my post op visits.

Dr. Potter was very helpful and honest. Even though she could have made a lot of $ doing a big surgery on me and insurance would have paid for it. She recommended a much simpler procedure that can be done by my general surgeon. I will go to her again if I have reconstructive or cosmetic needs.

2017 was a crazy year for many reasons, but being diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer and everything that came along for the journey was something I wasn't prepared for in the least. I was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma in my right breast and the plan was a lumpectomy and radiation, it all seemed pretty straight forward. I had the lumpectomy, but it unfortunately failed, the tumor was larger than imaged and the margins were not clean. Next step was the recommendation to have a unilateral mastectomy and reconstruction. Dr Sprunt was my breast surgeon who I really liked

She is the best! I was diagnosed with bilateral breast cancer in Seattle, and went through double mastectomies and a year of chemo there. They had good DIEP flap surgeon's up there, but no real STARS. So I waited until we completed our move to Texas. I did my research and found a STAR! She has done over 500 DIEP's and is an artist. She is caring, attentive, extremely knowledgeable, this is who you want doing this procedure for you! The results....I continue to get compliments from other doctors and therapists I see for other reasons. One therapist even asked if I thought she would come

Dr. Potter is fabulously gifted and a warm human being. I went to her after my initial reconstruction was botched. I was so afraid I would have to go through life with one breast smaller and deformed. Dr. Potter took all the time I needed to understand what needed to happen and what she was going to do. 10 week later I could not be happier. Not only do my breast match but I have a beautiful belly.
Additionally, she wants you to be perfectly satisfied and when I explained I needed just a touch of on my hips to be symmetrical, she agreed. It would have been easy to say " that is all

Love this woman and her team!! As a cancer warrior, there is nothing worse than feeling like you always "look" like you had cancer. Dr. Potter has helped me through all of those stages and gave me a great chest of science. I'm so, so happy that I found her and to all of those ladies out there that face this obstacle - having a surgeon you can trust like a sister is an amazing gift. Dr. Potter and her team are wonderful, caring, generous, and make sure you are treated with respect, time, and their complete attention. AMAZING!!!

Dr. Potter has proven to be one the most incredible physicians I've come in contact with. There are so many wonderful things I could say about her and her team but to keep it simple her exceptional capability as a physician is two-fold. First she is an incredibly talented surgeon. Her work is impeccable. I'm about three weeks out of a bilateral DIEP flap reconstruction and am still flabbergasted by the quality of her handiwork every time I look in the mirror. It blows my mind! She not only made me feel whole again, but now I look even better than I did before cancer. What a gift!!!
