Dr. Edward A Shelly A 40 year career in veterinary medicine had humble beginnings on his family farm in Vera Cruz, PA. There, he witnessed the admiration and respect his family veterinarian received. Coupled with a keen interest in medicine, he decided to dedicate himself to a life of care and compassion.
From the moment you bring your new puppy or kitten home to well into their senior years, having a trustworthy source for the care and welfare of your pet is paramount. We offer our services to all stages of your pet's life, providing compassionate and competent care. With the use of dental radiography and modern equipment, we are able to identify and treat dental pathology above and beneath the gum-line.
Serving the Palmerton Area School District, The Palmerton Cat Project works to manage the local feral cat population through an incredible effort from fosters and volunteers. Feral cats are humanely trapped, desexed, and provided for until they are either able to be adopted or released back into community.

Cannot recommend highly enough. They were there for us when our regular vet was not. The doc and his staff went above and beyond to tend to our 12 year old dog. Everyone in both offices have been kind, polite, understanding while remaining professional.
Considering the extent of care he received, their prices are very reasonable. The only drawback is the small size of their waiting room, but that is easily worked around by either waiting in the car or by walking your pet in their large front lawn until they call for you.

I took my 2 cats to Little Gap Animal Hospital today and had a wonderful experience. The staff was so thorough and friendly. They took excellent care of my kitties who had not been to the vet in a very long time and were quite scared. I would highly recommend them to anyone who loves their pet! My daughter takes her 2 cats to a clinic in Reading Pa and comparably their prices are quite reasonable.

Dr Ben and his staff were so gentle with my cat and answered all my questions. They also made sure I was able to get the care for him that was needed and they understood my financial hardship by not ordering anything that was unnessasary. Thankfully they also explained everything so I would understand his treatment with no sugar coating . I am very happy with the service.
