The food that we have ordered from Menagerie has always delicious. Menagerie also has great customer service. For Passover, they allowed us to customize some of the specials they were offering without hesitation. Additionally, one recent Sunday, when they were open by appointment only, I called up in the morning to ask if they could quickly create a platter to comfort someone who was mourning which they quickly did. I will continue ordering from Menagerie and very glad they are in our neighborhood!

Tried to stop in this morning to pick up a dessert for my Rabbi nephew and his family. They made my wife stand outside because the counter person was in the middle of an order. There was an owner? and another employee there. They did not let my wife in and when she asked about desserts they said "what do you want" she did not know and wanted to see some. Someone brought her a few to look at while she stayed outside. What a joke! This place is only open because they are Kosher an observant -people put up with it otherwise they would have been gone years ago!

Pre-ordered half pans of chulent, potato kugel, and the best chicken nuggets around. 3 lbs of their sweet cole slaw and everyone went home happy!

Sandwiches are smaller than subways, just a buck or two more, and so so so much better. Honestly worth every bite.
Plus, the guy behind the counter brightens your day, gives you quick one two lesson on meats, and tada - you come out a more cultured, humble person. And who doesn't love a bit of personal development.
Try em out! Big names are nothing compared to the heart and soul of your local people. Stay wholesome.

Of all days, today, Erev Rosh Hashanah, Menagerie tried to cheat me, and when I challenged them, they handled it poorly and offensively. I had placed an order for several items more than a week ago, to be picked up today. One of the items was 2 lbs of chopped liver. I saw the containers and they looked woefully less than what I had ordered. When I asked, is that really 2 lbs.? the man behind the counter looked at me and said, "Yeah, it's 2 lbs." I could see it wasn't so I asked him to weigh it on the scale in front of me. Clearly, this made him angry. "It's 2 lbs.

Went to Palisade street hoping to try a Reuben from Sol and Sol, which I found had closed. This place was right across the street so I gave it a try. Got a hot pastrami sandwich on rye. Portion was on the small side, and though the meat was nice and hot, the flavor struck me as a little "off." Not spoiled, just a miss in terms of what one hopes for in pastrami. Bread was quite good, mustard was lacking in flavor. It wasn't cheap. I won't be back.
