I used to live in Winston-Salem but I moved to Raleigh several years ago. After trying several dentists in Raleigh I decided to switch back to Dr Benton's office. I didn't like the high pressure sales tactics of the other offices and felt more like a number than a person. The drive is well worth it!

Dr. Nelson knows how stressful dental care can be, and prioritizes a comfortable, painless experience. He's had a lot of dental work, too. Like many people, Dr. Nelson has a lot of unpleasant memories of dental work as a child. From the age of 4 to 18, he had just about every dental treatment procedure from fillings to crowns to extractions.
Dr. Benton started our practice over 40 years ago. He has a passion for cosmetic and general dentistry, and he has been proudly serving the Winston-Salem and Piedmont Triad community since he graduated from dental school. He's focused on patient comfort. Dr. Benton has a calm and gentle demeanor, which is also reflected in his dental work.

I LOVE this dentist! I have been going to them for years and I didn’t think that I would ever like a dentist as much as Dr. Benton, but Dr. Nelson is just as amazing! I highly recommend Benton & Nelson Dentistry. I have anxiety issues, and an over-active gag reflex, and recently needed some work done on my back teeth. I chose to be sedated, and the experience was great ...well, as much as I can remember! Dr. Nelson was extremely informative, and professional, and his team monitored me safely throughout the procedure. As uncomfortable as I am with going to any dentist, my experience with Dr. Nelson, and his team and office staff has been amazing!

I haven’t been to the dentist in a while. I’ve got such a bad history of terrible anxiety, because other dentist kept working even though I could feel everything with tears running down my cheek! I’ve actually put off going to the dentist because I’ve never been anywhere that truly took care of me so I only really went when I had a problem. I put my kids dental care above my own. Now, I have a lot of work to get my smile back. I say all this because it’s truly hard to find a dentist that sits down, talks to you, gives you all his/her attention, doesn’t make you feel bad/guilty about

From the moment I walked into Benton and Nelson, I knew I was in a very special place. Every person I encountered was professional, yet warm and inviting. I had no wait time, I was introduced to everyone, and all procedures were explained in detail. I was made to feel very comfortable and encouraged to ask for whatever I wanted or needed. I was listened to and treated with the upmost respect. I simply cannot say enough about how pleased I was with the entire experience. Dr. Nelson is a warm and personable person as well as a wonderful professional. I cannot thank the entire group enough.

The entire staff is so amazing, super friendly, and very helpful. You can tell that they are truly a team. Dr. Nelson was awesome about easing my mama guilt that my kids had never had dental checkups prior to coming to them due to insurance and financial issues. They are always so nice and do such an awesome job of making you feel comfortable, whether you're the patient or a nervous mama! My family plans to continue to use them for all of our dental needs!
